Halloween (movie series)

The masked Michael is referred to as The Shape due to the fact that for a good part of the movie you don't really see him, he just blends in with the darkness and shadows, he is a man but he represents everything that is evil, and also because while Nick Castle was the main Michael, Tony Moran played him during the unmasked scenes and he is in the credits as Michael Myers.

Yes it is, in that movie, Michael Myers finally finds Jamie, and plans to kill her and her baby, but Jamie runs away and is able to hide her baby in a bus station, where Tommy Doyle finds the baby and takes it home because Jamie is killed by Michael in a barn. Michael later confronts Tommy and a woman who helped Tommy and the baby escape before from Michael's grasp. But with the help of the woman and Dr. Loomis, Tommy is able to beat Michael unconscious. Dr. Loomis decides to stay because he has business to attend to. As Tommy and the woman are leaving, you can hear Br. Loomis' screams in the distance.

John Carpenter (who was the original owner of the Halloween franchise at the time) wanted to turn the Halloween franchise into an anthology. He wanted to make it a series of stand-alone Halloween-seasoned films. Each one with it's own unique characters, setting, and storyline.

So it would be like this:

Halloween (1978) and Halloween II (1981) were about Michael Myers, an insane criminal who escaped from a insane asylum and goes on a bloody rampage through Haddonfield, Illinios on Halloween night.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) was about a toymaker who wanted to sacrifice everyone in the world to the pagan sun-god Nuada through Halloween-masks and a television commercial on Halloween night (for those you who still think that Cochran did it for no apparent reason).

And future Halloween films would've told other stories that took place on Halloween night.

Fans of the first two Halloween films were confused by the title and lack of reference to the previous films and as a result the box office suffered and this idea was quickly dropped. And for some it wasn't that Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) had nothing to do with the first two films, but the story the producers decided to tell, the fans wanted to something very different from the film, something more traditional. Several years later the idea was brought up to bring back the Michael Myers storyline in Halloween IV: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) officially resurrected the storyline and characters of the original.

No, but in the Halloween remake there is a scene in the end where it looks like he may be running, but it shows it threw his eyes so, i can't be sure.

In Halloween 6 when he's chasing Kara and Tommy through the tunnels, he kind of jogs.

Taking away from the odd and nonsensical plotline in that he was being controlled somehow by a shadowy and pagan type organization or something completely cartoonish such as that, Rob Zombie based his films in reality and not bad 1970's writing. In his films Michael is simply insane. It's as simple as that. He shows signs of severe disturbance as a child in these versions such as murdering his own pets and dogs and cats from the neighborhood (as this is the often warning sign of a future murderer of humans). In Zombie's version Michael doesn't kill his family out of some cryptic reason based in paganism and the occult, he does it simply because he hates them. He murders his mother's live in boyfriend due to the fact that he is highly harassing to both Michael and his mother verbally and most likely otherwise. He murders his sister and her boyfriend due to the fact that he likes neither of them. He spares his baby sister, Angel (later renamed Lorie Strode), and his mother due to the fact that he seems to have love for them. When he breaks out of the asylum and heads back to Haddonfield, he is doing it so that he may be reunited with his sister, not to kill her, at least that is not the original intent. When she rebuffs him and attacks him with a knife due to the fact that she has NO memory of him from when she was a baby, he then goes into killer mode with her as well.
