Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Harry Potter played for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Harry stayed on the team until his sixth year, when he left Hogwarts. He was picked to be captain in his sixth year.

Harry, Ron and Hermione contacted Ron's brother Charlie and arranged for Norbert to be collected from the Astronomy tower at midnight. Draco went to visit him in the hospital wing and threatened to tell Madam Pomfrey what had really bitten him. When asked why he was there, Draco lied and said he was borrowing a book from Ron who gave him the book containing Charlie's letter.

The Astronomy tower is out of bounds expect during class times and first years were not allowed in the corridors at midnight. Harry and Hermione decided it would be okay because they had the invisibility cloak. However, they forgot to put it back on and were caught exiting the tower by Argus Filch who took them to Professor McGonagall.

McGonagall had been warned by Malfoy and had given him into trouble for being out of bed. She'd also found Neville Longbottom, who had overheard Malfoy and was trying to warn Harry. This caused all four of them to receive detention and they lost 50 points each - resulting in Gryffindor loosing 150 points in one night.

In the movie adaptation, this was changed. Draco saw Norbert through Hagrid's window and reported it to a teacher. Harry, Ron (instead of Neville) and Hermione were given detention as was Draco.

Hermione Granger deduces that the smallest bottle will get Harry Potter through the fire. She takes another bottle that allows her to go back and save Ron Weasley.

Uncle Vernon laughs and tells Harry that Platform 9 and 3/4 doesn't exists. He took great pleasure in dropping Harry off at Kings Cross, putting his luggage onto a trolley and then dropping him off in front of platforms nine and ten before laughing and driving away.

Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger met on the Hogwarts Express on the 1st September 1991.

Harry and Ron were sharing a compartment during the journey, they meet Hermione as she helped Neville Longbottom look for his toad.

Molly Weasley did make Harry Potter a jumper during his first year. Ron had told his mum that Harry wasn't expecting many presents so sent made him an emerald green jumper and some fudge.

Mars. The centaurs say so multiple times. Hagrid attempts to have a conversation with them, but all they say is "Mars is bright tonight" over and over.

The Quidditch trophy says "Seeker" then underneath "James Potter" there is also a year that starts with "197".

The exact date isn't very clear but it can only be between 1972 (James' second year) and 1977 which was his final year.

The Philosopher's Stone produces the Elixir of Life which will give the drinker eternal life. However, one has to drink it regularly. The stone is very valuable and is likely to attract many people who want to steal it.

Is it brought up on Harry's first ride to Hogwarts when he was craving a Mars bar. Instead he purchased other "wizarding" candies. The chocolate frogs came with collectors cards to entice consumers into buying more. Berty Bott's Every Flavor beans were also a brand name craze in the book. It was addressed at a separate time while the kids were fawning over a new model of broom in a display window of Diagon Alley.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was published on the 1st of September. It was released by Scholastic Publishing in New York.

A first edition will have the numbers: "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1"

The 1 indicates that it is a first printing. If the number line ends in 6, it is the 6th printing.

Dani Harmer was eleven years old during filming and twelve when the movie was released. Harmer appeared as an extra in the movies.
