You should drain & replace your coolant at least once every 100,000 miles minimum.

If it is water cooled it will run until the bearings and internal engine components completely wear out, which will happen in short order. If it is air cooled it will run much longer. It would be foolish to run any engine with a blown head gasket. Repair it.

If you can buy it cheap enough. Assume you will have to not only replace the head gasket but also the head and possible have a complete overhaul on the engine. You need to know that if the engine was driven around with a blown head gasket then it may have severe internal damage from the coolant mixed with the oil. My advice is to assume you will have to either overhaul this engine or buy another one. Buy it cheap enough so you can do that and it can be a good buy. But then again there are lots of Jeeps out there for sale so why go through the hassle.

There is a gasket between the head and the engine block. That gasket seals those two parts together allowing oil and coolant to flow freely between the two parts. If the gasket becomes cracked, warped, or otherwise damaged in any way the oil and coolant can mix together. The coolant can also enter the combustion chamber. In either case it will destroy the engine if it is not repaired immediately. In most cases a head gasket will blown due to the engine overheating.

In my experience the only permanent repair for a blown head gasket is to replace it. These gasket sealers are only a temporary fix used in an emergency.
