No, they were two different gods in Greek mythology. Hephaestus was the god of the forge/blacksmiths, and Hades was the god of the Underworld. Hephaestus was married to Aphrodite, and Hades was married to Persephone.

Hephaestus was never depicted as such in Greek myth.

Hephaestus was the son of Hera only she conceived him by herself because Zeus conceived Athena by himself. He is the grandson of Cronus and Rhea and the great grandson of Gaea and Uranus and the great great grandson of either Chaos or in some venisons Nyx.

Hephaestus was born of Zeus and Hera (along with Ares and Hebe). When Hera layed eyes on Hephaestus, she was so horrified because of his ugliness that she threw him off Olympus, crippling him. Another version of the story says that Zeus threw Hephaestus off Olympus. After Hera saw what a good craftsmen Hephaestus was, she apologized and took him back. Later on, Hephaestus built a throne chair for Hera that had a trap in it. When she sat in it her arms and legs were shackled in and she was stuck! Hephaestus left her there for a while before freeing her (legend has that Zeus had to threaten or beg Hephaestus to release Hera).

Hephaestus had a few friends... Apollo, Dionysus, and his father Zuess. He had a lot of enemys to... his wife Aphrodite, his brother Ares, his mother Hara, and so on...

He rerpresnts metat working and the Fourge, he is the son of Hera and Zeus.

Hephaestus has several rivals all of whom take issue with his ugly looks. Cheif amongst these are Ares and Hera his mother. Ares and him are rivals over the affections of Aphrodite, to put it another way Aphrodite is married to Hephaestus and because he is ugly has several affairs with Ares. Hephaestus has mommy issues because she has attempted to kill on multiple occasions because if his looks, this only made it work.
