Can someone play football in high school with no previous experience?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There is no requirement for a player to have previous football experience in order to play in the NFL. However, the chances of someone making a team without going through a college program are extremely slim. Without college playing time there is no chance for a scout to see you or your talents, and since no NFL teams have open tryouts anymore...

Additionally, without previous playing experience your lack of experience would create a tremendous disadvantage, regardless of how gifted an athlete a person was.

What is the average weight and height of a high school freshman football player?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

About 5'4 to 5'7 and should 115 to 140

You really want to focus on muscle mass and muscle weight start doing simple things like push-ups and sit-ups and start lifting weights on your own at home

If you are very fast and quick you will make the high school team easily and will probably play cornerback or slot receiver position

How does a schools football team become division 1?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

by going to BASA, now BSA, and asking about joining the district competition. BSA may not agree, as you need a home ground, a uniform, and be willing to pay rent for your stadium, as well as fees. You will not become division 1 immediately. As a new club you need to start in the lowest division in your age group and work your way up. If you are blitzing the lower teams, you may be able to get a special request to be moved to a higher division.

What high school football team holds the most state titles?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Not positive but many say Cleveland Saint Ignatius.

Edit: Definitely Cleveland St. Ignatius for the state of Ohio, they have 10 (all under head coach Chuck Kyle) while the next closest team is Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller with 7. But as far as other states go I don't know.

edit: Trinity High School of Louisville, Kentucky, holds the record for 19 state championships. They have won 7 of the past 8 State Championships.

The above answers are both incorrect. Lawrence High School in Lawrence, KS has won 26 State Football Championships. Their athletic department has won a total of 101 State High School Championships in all sports, which leads the nation.

Actually, your answer is also incorrect East Grand Rapids High School in East Grand Rapids, Michigan has 111 state championships as of June 2009

The above answer is wrong this is just foorball, they have won 10. I Believe the most are, Lawrence High with 27, John Curtis Christian in River Ridge, LA with 19, and Joliet Catholic, IL, with 13. This is really hard to find, on the intenet, if you find otherwise just change this answer

The above answer is wrong to, Washington High School in South Dakota has 36 football titles. as of Nov. 2010.

Edit:Massillon Washington High School Out of Ohio Has Won 22 State Championships.(In Football Of Course) Well Artesia High School, Artesia NM, has 26 state titles in the past 50 to 60 years! Arteisa has just won its 27th state football title on December 4, 2010 against Aztec, New Mexico.

Edit: Washington High School of Sioux Falls, South Dakota has 35 11-man football state titles. Most recently winning the state title on November, 13th 2010.

Edit: John Curtis is up to 25 championships. Ada, Oklahoma has 19. Valdosta, Georgia has 25 or 26

What is the size for a high school football?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Well it all depends like the size of the school, how good you football team is, and how many people are involved.

You can have as little as 23 players on your roster. Or you can have as many as 93 players on your roster depending.

IMPROVED ANSWER: I think you mean't the size of the football itself and not the size of a team.....all NHFS footballs must meet the minimum size requirements for High School play. The patterns and "girth" of the ball my slightly be different...but all in all, you want a ball stamped with the NHFS seal. Then you know you are playing with an official ball.
