What were the three laws in i robot?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Assuming that robots with 'positronic brains' have a level of understanding and logic equal to a human, the Three Laws would govern their behavior toward people. # A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. # A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. # A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

What is newtons 2nd law in simplest terms?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Newton's third law of motion is "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction." When you sit down in a chair, the chair must provide an equal and opposite reaction or it would collapse.

Has Isaac Newton ever been proven wrong about anything and if so who proved him wrong?

User Avatar

Asked by KrisCrabtree

Newton used prisms to show that sunlight was made up of all the colors of the rainbow. This proved that the ancient Greeks' ideas about light were wrong.

==========================

We all know the story that SIr Isaac Newton was hit by an apple on the head which led him to formulate gravity. Now Kepler had developed a theory that about planetary motions:-

  1. The orbit of a planet is an ellipse with the Sun at one of the two foci.
  2. A line segment joining a planet and the Sun sweeps out equal areas during equal intervals of time.
  3. The square of the orbital period of a planet is proportional to the cube of the semi-major axis of its orbit.
Newton derived the third law from his gravitational theory and thus helped in modelling the solar system.

What experiment did isaac newton did to find gravity?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Newton only thought of the concept of gravity*, put a value to it and divided some laws to do with it. Gravity is still unproven, there is no evidence to prove its existence.

*I'm not sure if this is true but he supposedly thought of gravity because he was sat under a tree and an apple fell on his head. He though that something must have cause the apple to fall and so came up with gravity to explain it.

Explain why friction changes the velocity of objects and why friction can make observing newton's first law of motion difficult?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Friction made it difficult to discover newton's first law because under the law an object in motion will remain in motion at a constant velocity unless acted upon by an external force. Friction is an external force that slows objects in motion due to air friction (drag) and rolling resistance, making it appear as though this law is untrue.
