The only Isle of Man Crown produced in proof in 1977 was KM#42a in honor of the Queen's Jubilee Appeal. It is 38.5mm in diameter, weighs 28.28 grams, is 92.5% silver, and thus contains 0.841 troy ounces of silver (valued at, with silver at US$42.00 as of April 14, 2011, US$35.32). 30,000 were produced in proof and are valued, according to the Standard Catalog of World Coins, at US$30.00. Another 70,000 were produced in Uncirculated condition, as well as an uncertain number in Uncirculated condition in Copper-Nickel.

In 1978, Crowns in both Silver and Copper-Nickel were produced in proof for the 25th anniversary of the Queen's coronation. The silver coin (mintage 30,000) is valued at US$25.00, while the copper-nickel coin is valued at US$17.50.

In 1979, The Isle of Man produced six different crown designs, each in four different metals (copper-nickel, silver, gold and platinum), with the latter three metals in each case available in proof condition. The silver proofs are typically valued at US$25.00; the gold (1.2677 troy ounces) at US$1,250; and the platinum (1.5882 troy ounces) at US$3,000. Note, however, that the silver and gold values are below the current "melt" value of the coins (as of April 14, 2011), and so are probably understated.

Both countries use the pound as their currency but generally you can't use Manx pounds in the UK but you can often exchange them at banks for free. UK pounds can be used in Isle of Man however.

Travellers don't currently need a passport when traveling between the UK or Ireland and the Isle of Man. To travel on ferries or planes in these countries you will need ID (driving license or passport).

The Isle of Man TT is the most famous event. It's a 2 week long motorcycle festival with many classes of bike racing around a 37 mile (55km) track which consists entirely of public roads. The races have been held for over 100 years.
