Mine That Bird [foaled May 10, 2006] was the winning horse in last year's Kentucky Derby. The winning date was May 2, 2009. The winning jockey was Calvin H. Borel [b. November 8, 1966]. The winning time was 2 minutes 02.66 seconds.

well in 2007 Curlin lost the Kentucky Derby ( i think her placed third) but won the preakness and lost the blemont to the filly Rags to Riches.

Technically, a mare is defined as a female horse over the age of three. A filly is a female horse three years or younger. Since the Kentucky Derby is a race for 3-year-olds only, no mare has ever won. However, three fillies have won the Kentucky Derby: Regret (1915); Genuine Risk (1980); and Winning Colors (1988).

It's a pretty subjective question. Because Mine That Bird is a gelding and can't be bred, his worth is a lot less than most other winners. It's hard to say what he's worth because of that. However, his dam's value has just shot up quite a bit.

I bet you all of the money in the world that Aniamal Kingdom will win the Kentucky Derby, 137, and Nerho , will probably come in 2nd, with Mocha Mocha Man in 3rd, and maybe Arch Arch Arch in 4th. That is my guess.

It must rain very hard at the derby in order for it to be canceled. It can drizzle, rain and such but no downpour.
