Car Stalling Problems

Why would a car stall when driving with the headlights on for a few minutes?

most likely cause is the alternator not charging correctly. normal charge voltage with all accesories on is around 13 to 14 volts.anything less than 13 volts means that your alternator isn't charging and the car runs off of the battery until it can't run anymore. As the voltage drops, there is less power to produce a spark and the spark gets weaker or disappears until it can no longer ingnite the fuel/air mixture. You will probably notice that the top speed you can go keeps dropping as the battery drains. When it stalls you will not be able to get it to crank again without charging it.

Where is the oil filter on a 2007 Kia Sorento?

If it is like a 2004 Sorento 3.5 engine, you will have to remove a plastic cover bolted under the engine (5 bolts -12mm wrench), very easy to do, then you will see the oil filter on the engine's driver side toward the front of the engine, I do not do this when the engine is real hot as the filter is a bit awkward to get to. Hope this helps.

I have a 2007 Sorento and just changed the oil and filter. The plastic cover under the engine is the same as far as getting to the drain plug on the oil pan. However, the oil filter is located under the hood. It is at the rear center of the engine, next to the firewall. There is a black canister about 4" in diameter that has a screw cap cover. It's a little tricky to get the cover off the canister due to lack of room. You may have to remove the plastic cover that is mounted over the top of the engine to get it out. Once you do, the filter is nothing more than a paper cylinder that pulls out of the canister and the new one is popped back in place. Be sure the canister cover is screwed back on flush with the canister or it will leak. Nice idea from Kia....

I have a 2003 Sorento, the 2004 info above applies. FYI - used a 17mm wrench to remove drain plug. As for filter, note that KIA filter casing is wider (approx 3mm) than non KIA (FRAM) filter - does not matter as thread is the same. Since i had purchased a filter (cap) socket wrench for the replacement (FRAM), I was not able to use it to remove the KIA brand filter. Strap wrench barely worked. Getting the old filter out, well lets say that it went on quite a journey, the newer (narrower one) was easier to get in.

How do you change the front wheel bearings on a 2000 Kia Sephia?

Hey Roseanne==First, jack up the wheel then remove wheel, then the caliper. Then remove the dust cap over the spindle nut. Then remove the spindle nut and pull the fub and rotor off of the spindle. If the races thst are in the hub are scored remove them with a punch and install new ones. Then replace the inner bearing and NEW seal and put on the car and replace the outter bearing and spindle nut. Torque the nut to seat the bearing then back it off until there is slight play in the bearing. Pack the bearings before you install them and don't put excess grease in between the bearings or in the dust cap. GoodluckJoe

Where is the drain plug in the 2005 road king motorcycle?

The oil and transmission drain plugs are directly underneath the transmission, between the left and right frame rails. You'll see a grooved "oil pan" with two 5/8 inch bolts that also have Allen socket in the center. The bolt on the right side of the pan facing the ground is the transmission fluid drain plug. The bolt on the left side of the pan, facing the front of the bike is the oil drain. Their is a third Allen bolt next to the oil drain plug. You can ignore this bolt.

Where are the spark plugs located on a 2003 Kia Sorento?

The 2003 Kia Sorento with 3.5L V6 has the spark plugs located under black plastic covers in the center channel of each cylinder head. Several brackets, cables, and hoses must be moved out of the way to access them. The manufold air intake tube needs to be removed on the right bank. The left cylinder bank has coil-on-plug assemblies while the right bank has more conventional spark plug caps with sealing assemblies to keep dirt/moisture out of the spark plug wells. The coil-packs are held with two 10mm bolts each and are difficult to get to. Use universal-joint sockets and an extension. Service manuals indicate 2.5 hours to R/R spark plugs. The average do it yourself'er will take longer (usually). All electrical plugs are color-coded and/or indexed so it's pretty difficult to screw it up. The cruise control actuator cable is in the way on the left bank. Twisting the cable elbow upright releases it from the actuator allowing it to be bent sideways to gain clearance.

Remove the cowling off the top of the engine. It has about 6 bolts. The senor is located on the passenger side at rear of the engine. Unplug the harness. Remove the two screws and change out the tps. First you can not buy at local auto supply it is a special order at dealer. It is located in the fuel tank on the side of the pump. Disconnect battery .- side Here is the easiest way I found to replace. No need to drop tank there is a access to pump.underneath rear seat passenger side. Remove 4 screws lift up an disconnect 2 electrical connections then put panel to side. Disconnect fuel lines some gas will come out maybe a couple of ounces have rag ready. Take off rubber ring with a screw driver loose ring (counter clockwise) lay into it don,t be afraid to lay into it. Cairefully remove pump. You will see sensor on side of pump. Pop off sensor trace wires disconnect as you go along release 3 clips wires go inside pump. Reconnect wires . Macke sure th sensor wire is plugged in to inside outlet calrefully replace pump in reverse order. Sounds like a lot of wor k,s better than having to drope tank Steve B
