each kidney is protected by 3 outer layers

2) the adipose capsule - a layer of fatty tissue
3) the renal capsule - another fibrous layer
I am on my way to see a friend and his mother for both are about to have operations tonight. My friend was born with one kidney and that kidney is a bad one. It gave him problems through his whole life. His mother made a brave decision to give her one of her kidneys. Some of the procedures they took is to find a insurance that will cover 1 million dollars. Its what I've heard. It's not a cheap operation so you will need good insurance to back you up. Jesus, sorry that's all the information i can provide. Well what seemed like it. Good luck.
Why is the right kidney is lower than the left kidney?
Because the right kidney is just below the liver and left kidney below spleen.
Liver being larger in size on right side pushes right kidney a little downward, but such an action is not taken by spleen because of its small size on left side.
How does human kidney differ from frog kidney?

What is the cortex of the kidney?
It is called the Renal Cortex and is the layer found between the Reanl Capsule and Renal Medulla. It is the outer reagion of a kidney nad is colloured light red.
Renal Cortex accomodates the Glomerular capsule, largest part of nephrone, arterioles, veins and capillaries. Most filtration processes occur in this part of Kidney.
A metanephric kidney is the functional kidney of adult amniotes, that is, the reptiles, birds, and mammals. It occupies a more caudal position in the body cavity and is a much larger, more compact structure containing many tubules. It is drained by a ureter.
Tubules are the tubes running through each little (microscopic) nephrons within each kidney that aid in filtering and collecting of the waste products, and then depending on how much water is in the body it either can reabsorb more water or more salt depending on your electrolyte balance. :-D

What is a kidney is part of cell or organ or organ system or organism or tissue structure?
Kidney is an organ of our body. The Kidney is an important Excretory organ in the body which helps in separating waste matter from the blood stream and purifies blood by helping in passing of urine.
If parts of the kidney are injured what would happen to the organism?
You have two of them, and they are able to take over from one another. So if one kidney is so severely damaged or deseased that it even has to be removed, the other kidney will simply take over. If both kidneys are so severely damaged or deseased that they stop functioning you can live on, but you will have to undergo kidney dialysis in hospital several times a week for the rest of your life or until you get a kidney transplant.
Minor damage or desease in your kidneys usually responds well to medical treatment.
Why is it bad for a person with kidney trouble to have salt?
It is the sodium in salt that is the problem. Your body removes unwanted fluid by filtering your blood through your kidney. This requires a balance of sodium and potassium to pull the water across the wall from the bloodstream into a collecting channel in the kidney. A high salt diet will alter this sodium balance. This causes the kidneys to have reduced function and so less water is removed and this results in higher blood pressure. High blood pressure is not good for you generally but it is especially not good for people with kidney disease.
What is the primary site of tubular reabsorption in the kidneys?
The distal convoluted tubule or the collecting tube.
What is inside the glomerular capsule?
I am looking for the same answer too.... so I am not sure if I am right...
My book says that simple squamous epithelium is used at the filtration membrane of the kidney i guess that they are implying the glomerular capsule but I am not sure.
However it does make sense as simple squamous allows for rapid diffusion of material.
What if the kidney transplantation is not working?
You can possibly die because your body can not flush out all the waste and urine.
Alternate answer:
If a kidney transplant fails the patient does have other options but action should probably be taken as quickly as possible. The failure of a kidney transplant means that the patient will either have to have another transplant or they will have to go back on dialysis until something else can be done. People can live normally with only one kidney.
What are in kidneys and what do they do?
Your kidneys are located just above the small and large intestine. If you feel your lower back, they are just above the buttocks and they filter the blood of any toxins or unwanted substances.
