Kosovo is currently administered by the UN. At the moment, no visa is required for entry. You may need, however, valid proof of your intentions for your visit to show the border guards.

Entry into Kosovo does not mean you will get entry into Serbia or Montenegro. Please make sure that you have the valid visas required for your visits.

Visa requirements are subject to change. Please check with the local embassy/consulate for the latest requirements for your country's passport.

Asked by Wiki User

A series of revolutions from 1804 until 1815 forced the Ottoman Empire to recognize Serbia as a self-governing principality. The remainder of the movement to full independence would take from 1815 to 1878 and it proceeded gradually. The Ottoman Turks acknowledged Serbia's rights and borders in 1830 and 1833. In the 1860s, the Ottomans finally withdrew the last of their soldiers from Serbia. In 1878, the full independence of the Serbian nation was recognized by all her European neighbors.
