That is impossible to determine without more information. It should be a double gun with sidelocks. We need to know exactly how it is marked, including markings between the bottom of the barrels and the frame, what gauge it is, how long the barrels are and how they are choked, and most importantly WHAT CONDITION is it in (case colors, blue, wood, checkering, bores, etc. Send digital pictures.) Lefever shotguns can range from $300 to over $10,000. sales@countrygunsmith.net

What is the value of a Lefever Arms 10 gauge shotgun serial 21618?
Not enough information. What grade? What condition? sales@countrygunsmith.net
I also have a Lefever Nitro Special 12 guage, serial #337... which was made between 1936 and 1937, and it's also a single trigger (which I think is rare). Yours was made around 1929. While these are not expensive guns, they are considered high grade American made shot guns and they still shoot great to this day. Lefever made some of America's most collected shotguns as did the Ithaca Gun Company which made your gun. But the double guns made by the Lefever Arms Company are much more rare and much more valuable. They can sell for thousands, and even hundreds of thousands for some of the rarest. The Ithaca Gun Company made about 236,000 Nitro Specials between 1921 and 1948 after they acquired the Lefever name. They came in different gauges but the most common was the 12 gauge with a double trigger. If it were a 16 gauge, it would be worth about 20% more. I'm not sure how much the single trigger adds if anything. Mine is in good to very good condition and I think it's worth around $450. The fact that yours is older should not make much of a difference. The determining factor is the condition. If you do a little research on the internet you can find out everything you need to know about determining the condition and value of your gun. That's what I did after I inherited mine and I've been an admirer of collectable side by sides ever since.

The Lefever Arms Co. was known for producing shotguns from the late 1800s until the early 1900s, with the serial number you provided (136844) likely dating your shotgun to around the early 20th century, possibly between 1910 and 1920. What is the value of a LeFever Nitro Special shotgun?
LeFever Nitro Specials are not Manufactured By Dan Lefever. They are made by Ithaca Arms Co. Ithaca bought out The Lefever Arms Co. in 1916. Starting with serial #100000 in 1921 and ending in 1947 with #361199. These #'s encompass all bores.
No manufacture during WWII. 12 gauges are not extremely rare. I bought one in good to very good condition Aug of 2002 for $400.00.
A great book for Lefever history is "Uncle Dan Lefever, Master Gunmaker" by Robert Elliot.
The last guy wanted that gun. Those can be found in abundance in mint condition for less than 350.00/that's not to say it's a bad shotgun, these were built for the working man and not real fancy. If you want a hunting double, there are few that compare "bang for buck".
