the best that I can do is say that the lefever nitro special was made between the years 1921-1948.

I contacted Ithaca Arms and they said that My shot gun was made in 1929.

The Lefever was mfg. in 1935.

Based on the serial number, your shotgun was manufactured in 1923. Without knowing the condition and other options, a value cannot be determined,

Ithaca Gun Company manufactured the Lefever Nitro Special under the Lefever Arms Co. brand from 1921 through 1947, except 1943 through 1945. The serial number indicates your gun was made in 1925.

Made in 1941. 16 GA usually worth a little more than 12 GA, so suspect it would bring $500, plus or minus, if in good condition. Monitor www.gunbroker.com for comparable offerings to see what they are going for.

The model number is on the water table directly after the serial number, usually a letter ranging from A thru I with I the least fancy.

According to doublegunshop.com the year of mfg would be 1922

This was apparently prior to the acquisition of Lefever by Ithaca, since it appears that the first Ithaca Lefever serial numbers contain 6 digits (Lefever Nitro Special - 1921)

There are many things to consider on old shotguns and this is especially true of Lefever Arms guns. Most Lefever are OLD, yours was made in 1906 or 1907, which puts many of them truly in the antique category. If the gun is lose and rattles when you shake it and has little or none of its original finish it's probably just a wall hanger with a value of no more than a couple hundred bucks. In good or better condition though, and condition, originality (unmodified in any way), and grade are everything, the value can range from $500 to over $20,000. Your best bet is to go to one of the major book stores and get a copy of one of the firearme pricing guides, similar the Kelly Blue Book for auto's, and evaluate the gun yourself.

I have a 16 guage nitro special with serial 149296. i have pinpointed it in the area of 1925-6. nitro specials were created from 1923-1946 serial numbers 100000-360000. since yours is 206508, it wold probaly be an early to mid 30's model. sadly, nitro specials aren't worth much. Lucky to get $300 off one, because a. it's not a real lefever (made by ithica, who bought the company out) and b. it was originally a cheap weapon. my advice: use it for hunting. my nitro shoots great and it's a fun gun. keep it in good condition. the're starting to make new parts for them, so the ones with all stock parts (like ours) will go up in PRICE
