Book:
He was only there during the book Little House on the Prairie, when the Ingalls lived in Kansas.
TV Show:
He was one of the first characters on the show. He was in the pilot episode until the end of season 3 then he left for a few year and came back in the end of season 8 and was there through the rest of the series.
Well, in the tv show they said that when she was little she had scarlet fever and it damaged the nerves in her eyes and therefore her sight kept getting worse and eventually it got so bad that she went blind. But in the little house book By the Shores of Silver Lake they said that when Mary was 14 she, Ma, Carrie and Grace all got scarlet fever, but Mary got the worst of it and went blind within a month.
It was Buck, a live hurricane of fury, hurling himself upon them in a frenzy to destroy" (London 75).
yes
Most of the people in the stories were real. My grandmother was adopted by Laura's family when she had her mother die, so she grew up with in Ingalls.
yeah.... he played Charles Ingalls the father of the Ingalls children
I have never heard of this. the sedate ( Waltons with a western accent ) was one of the most wholesome and generally historically accurate of the frontier- here somewhat domesticated, scene. I cannot recall any gunfights, for example. I believe you're thinking of the novel, not the TV show. The book was banned because of its racist attitudes towards Native Americans.
It is hard to nail it down, as there was a series of books- sort of domestic settled westerns, as opposed to Gunsmoke types- dealing with the Ingalls family and written by the author Laura Ingalls Wilder- not to be confused with the modern Aviatrix Laura Ingalls. They were a series, Ms Wilder died in l957 the western writer) so it is probable there were more than one hands behind the pen and typewriter. Therefore it is difficult to tie the plot down. Tended towards a downbeat ( Hard times) type of domestic saga as opposed to more action oriented Gunsmoke. ( I am familiar with the television series- the TV series used plots written by different authors, many were inaccurate- one dealing with a man having shell shock ( or something like it) on a construction site used the Count Down in a blasting (foundation) operation in the l870"s when the whole idea of a count-down only came out in Science Fiction in the twenties=-it was not and is not used on Construction sites,. A code of whistles or bells is used to time the shots and warn people to stand clear. So there are errors aplenty. iT IS difficult to be specific- the series ran for some years and was a domestic- family drama- not the dominant Western mode- again quite different from Gunsmoke, Virginian, Bonanza, etc.
I think it took place in the 1870s. go to clubpenguin.com!!!
Nellie's real name was Elizabeth Jane Cochran. Her birth parents were Judge Michael Cochran and Mary Jane Cochran.
Well they stop filming the show in 1984 but it played in t.v. for several years later and maybe still does.
There are acually two of them. One is Lindsay and Sydney Greenbush who played Carrie Ingalls and the other one is Wendi and Brenda Turnbaugh who played Grace Ingalls.
Little House on the Prairie is a family drama that talks about the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Walnut Grove gets destroyed except for the Ingalls' house proving one day the town will be restored.
Charles and Caroline moved away from Walnut Grove and lived to be in their 70's to 80's.
Mary and Adam Stayed in New York where Adam worked as a lawyer having regained his sight back. They never had any more children.
In Real Life, Mary had never married and never had any children.
Laura and Almanzo Wilder raised Rose, Their adopted daughter/niece, Jenny in Stone Ridge. Laura lost a baby boy, and wrote her best selling novels The Little House on the Prairie series.
In Real Life, Almanzo was 10 yrs Laura's senior and one side of his body was stiff and he walked with a cane. Laura and Almanzo never adopted their niece, as her parents never passed away.
Albert, Laura's adopted brother, next closest to her in age, (roughly three to four years youngest) was about to become a doctor when he died of a blood diease at age 19-20.
In Real Life, Albert was a farm hand helping her father and died of a young age.
Carrie married a widower who had two children in his previous marriage: a girl and a boy, Harold. She never had any children of her own. In the TV series it isn't mentioned on what happened to her.
James, another adopted son of the Ingalls, is next in line. Nothing is mentioned of him or his sister, Cassandra.
Grace is next. She married but never had any children. In the TV series it isn't mentioned on what happened to her.
Charles Fredrich Jr. Was Charles and Caroline's biological son, who in the TV series and in Real Life, died age 1.
There was Laura, Mary, and Carrie Ingalls at first. In season four baby Grace Ingalls was born. Then in season five the Ingalls adopted Albert, who was about Laura's age. At the end of season 7, they took in James and Cassandera Cooper, after their parents were killed in a wagon accident. Well in the beginning of the second to last season the Ingalls Family moved to Burr Oak, Iowa but, in the last episode Charles and Caroline came back to Walnut Grove to see Laura and Almanzo and Laura and Almanzo ended up going back to Burr Oak with Charles and Caroline because a man made everyone leave because the town was on his land.
The original series aired on NBC at 8pm, first on Wednesdays then on Mondays. Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House on the Prairie aired on ABC as a five-hour miniseries in 2005. If I recall correctly, the miniseries aired on Saturday nights at 8pm.
