A Greek daemon is not the same as a "demon"; a daemon is divinely born.

Medusa was born of the ancinet sea gods Phorkys (who presided over the hidden dangers of the deep)and Keto (a goddess of whales, large sharks, and sea-monsters) who were born of the primeval deities Pontus (sea) and Gaea (earth).

Medusa was the mortal daughter of Phorcys, the embodyment of the dangers of the sea and the son of Pontus and Gaia, and Keto, the daughter of... Pontus and Gaia, and whose name is the root of the word "Cetacian", which is the family of whales and dolphins.

Beyond that it gets wierder. Pontus was also the son of Gaia, born without father. Gaia herself was born from Khaos, also without aid of a father.

A Greek myth.

There are several versions of the myth.

In one, Polydectes, the ruler of the island that Perseus and his mother, Danaë lived one, desperately wanted to marry Danaë, but didn't want her son around. Hence, he hatched a plot in which he would invite a bunch of people over for a wedding celebration, including Perseus. As dictated by custom, everyone brought a gift for the bride-to-be, except for Perseus, since he had nothing to give. He was deeply embarrassed by this, and declared that he would give the king anything he wanted. Therefore, the king told Perseus that he wanted nothing more than the head of Medusa.

In another version (but at the same wedding celebration), Perseus declared that he himself would get the head of Medusa as a gift for Polydectes.

In both, Polydectes was hoping that Perseus would not make it back alive.

Medusa represents no day of the week, she is a reflection and explanation of the natural creations of sea reefs.

Since she is part of a Myth, and the fact that there are a dozen of interpretations it depends. Some people say her skin matched the one of a snake, others say she had the softest skin in all of Greece. Hope this helped
