There is no 'slowest' person to climb Mount Everest. All climbers have a set time to climb the mountain before turning around.

Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in the world, so therefore is higher than K2. Mount Everest is 8848 meters tall and K2 is 8611 meters tall. You may not know this but even though Mount Everest is higher K2 is acctually harder to climb.

George Mallory first climbed Mount Everest in 1921 when the 13th Dalai Lama permitted, for the first time, the expedition of Everest. Before 1921, there were no recorded expeditions. George Mallory then went back in 1922, 1923, and 1924 until he died in an unsuccessful, or some may argue a successful summit. In the event that it was a successful summit, which is not recorded and has not been proven true, George Mallory would have been the first to reach the summit opposed to the recorded statement that Sir Edmund Hillary and his expedition partner were first. Nonetheless, George Mallory did not return from the mountain on his last expedition.

The 1953 expedition was made up by John Hunt, George Band, Thomas Bourdillon, Charles Evans, Alfred Gregory, George Lowe, Wilfrid Noyce, Griffith Pugh, Thomas Stobart, Michael Ward, Michael Westmacott , Charles Wylie and many Sherpas and porters all helped put Hillary and Tenzing on the summit of Mount Everest.

It is said the Mount Everest grows every year by a few milimeters.

To reach the summit of Mount Everest can take anywhere between 4 to 8 weeks. You have to allow time for your body to acclimatize to the high altitude by climbing high then descending low, then you must wait for the right weather window to allow you to climb to the summit and back safely.

The temperature at the summit of Mount Everest never rises above freezing, averaging -32F (-36C) in winter and -2F (-19C) in summer. The wind chill, sometimes blowing a gale at an hundred miles per hour will make it feel very much colder too.
