There have been several generations of My Little Pony toys along with associated TV shows and other media. G1 refers to the first generation which came out in the 1980s and continued into the early 1990s. This includes both the first My Little Pony toys, the original animated My Little Pony series, and My Little Pony Tales.

Equestria is basically a fantasy continent. It's not like saying where is Wisconsin in the US. Your question is like saying where is North America. Since Equestria is a fantasy place though, and there are ton's of other fantasy shows that have maps, they can't all connect correctly or accurately, and therefore the existence of places in fantasy, are impossible to know. It would be like saying where is North America, if North America didn't even exist. Then it would be impossible to say where it is. A little confusing, but I hope you understand at leas a little.
