Nostradamus never actually made such a prediction.

In fact, the quote that is attributed to him in modern culture is the following quote:

On the 11th day of the 9 month,

two metal birds will crash into two tall statues

in the new city,

and the world will end soon after.

The reality is that Nostradamus never made this quote. This quote actually comes from another source who was, ironically, trying to explain the "Nostradamus effect" to other people by giving a random and ambiguous quote and showing how it could be applied to seemingly important events and appear to be a genuine "prediction" when in reality, it was pretty randomly concocted.

The quote in question was written in 1997 by Neil Marshall who was a student attempting to debunk the "prophecy" of Nostradamus by using the same type of vague wording and phrasing to show the fallacy of such predictions.

It's not Nostradamus' quote. He never made such a statement, therefore no year can be given for the quote.

Ok guys there seems to a common misconception about his predictions. We are unable to tell if his predictions were correct because his predictions were completely vague. Nostradamus more than likely figured that something would happen at one point in time and if he predicted it in any vague sentence, than he would credited as a prophet. For example, people believed that he predicted the attacks on September 11th after he said, "A tower will engulf in fire" or something like that translated (thats at least what I translated it to). As you may notice, that statement is very vague and not specific. That statement could cover any tower fire, building fire, tragic fire event, etc... from his time period to ours. His predictions are souly based on ones interpretations , and no scientific fact.

No, he did not, nor did he predict President Bush either. There are numerous fake Nostradamus quotes, as well as some actual verses that could mean any one of twenty different possibilities. But there is no evidence he predicted any of the U.S. presidents: the quote that claims to be about Barack Obama is one of the fake quotes. I enclose a link that discusses this.

I believe the story is that he was buried in an upright position, not that he remained standing when he died. <<-- In response: The legend is definitely that he died standing up. I just happened to have caught the end of a Nostradamus special on the History channel and they stated twice that he had been found standing up, and that was the reason for his original upright burial. However, other than the History channel, I cannot find any legitimate sources to back it up. I pose the same question then: Did Nostradamus really die standing up?

I believe he predicted there would be catastrophic world events and unnatural weather patterns. He predicted the end would come in the year 3026 (or around there).
