Annelise Platt is the woman whom the book Number The Stars by Lois Lowry is dedicated to. Annelise told many stories of the Denmark Nazi invasion from her childhood and Lois wrote this book based on her story. Annemarie in the book is supposed to be Annelise. Fun fact: by the time the war was over, almost all of the Denmark Jew population was smuggled over to Sweden in fishing boats safely. i read this in the Afterword of Number The Stars. i highly recommend this book.
