Is it true that Stomach's contractile rhythm is set by pacemaker cells found in the spinal cord?
FALSE!
How does the pacemaker help with the circulation in a persons legs?
The pacemaker will regulate the heartbeat, and a regulated heartbeat will regulate the speed blood is moved throughout the body. Improved blood flow, especially in the legs, will improve general health across the board.
Why do you need a pacemaker if you already had bypass?
A bypass merely clears the flow in the arteries, the pacemaker keep the heart beating at a steady rate.
Why is interference from electromagnetic fields a diminishing problem for pacemaker wearers?
However, advances in pacemaker design and materials have greatly reduced the risk of pacemaker interference from electromagnetic fields.
What heart diseases increase the chances that a patient will need a pacemaker?
A history of myocardial infarction (heart attack), congenital defect, or cardiac transplant also increases the likelihood of pacemaker implant.
What complications occur with an old pacemaker leads left in a body after the pacemaker is replaced?
the answer is in the question. if the pacemaker is replaced the leads are used for it.
What causes rapid depolarization phase of a pacemaker cell?
Rapid depolarization happens after the membrane threshold has been reached and Na+ ions start to flow into the cell. As more Na+ ions flood in the cell becomes more and more positive. This causes the voltage gated Na+ channels to open creating a flood of Na+ ions and thus a rapid phase of depolarization. Shortly after this rapid phase K+ ions are released from the cell causing the cell to become more negative closing the Na+ channels and thus repolarizing the cell.
What causes the heart's pacemaker to change the rate at which the heart beats?
Nerves The sympatetic nerve increases the SA node to speed up the heart rate The parasympathetic nerve uses the vagus nerve which decreases HR
When are pacemakers used for heart blocks?
Some second- and almost all third-degree heart blocks require an artificial pacemaker.
What will appear on ECG if a patient has pacemaker?
Depending on the reasons the pacemaker is being used in the first place. Patient may be having ectopic beats? irregular rhythms? due to heart conduction blocks or muscular damage. Expect a regular sinus rhythm with an occasional ectopic wave.
Why sa node called as natural pacemaker?
The sinoatrial (SA) node is called the natural pacemaker of the heart because it generates electrical impulses that initiate each heartbeat. Located in the right atrium, the SA node has specialized cells that can spontaneously depolarize, setting the rhythm for the entire heart. These impulses spread through the heart's conduction system, coordinating contraction and ensuring an efficient pumping action. Thus, it regulates heart rate and maintains a consistent rhythm under normal physiological conditions.
Does having a pacemaker make you uninsurable for long-term care insurance?
Preexisting conditions are health problems you had when you became insured. Insurance companies may require that a period of time pass before the policy pays for care related to these conditions. For example, a company may exclude coverage of preexisting conditions for six months. This means that if you need long term care within six months of the policy's issue date for that condition, you may be denied benefits. Companies do not generally exclude coverage for preexisting conditions for more than six months.
I don't know if that really answers your question. Maybe someone else can elaborate specifically on your situation with a pacemaker.
A pacemaker does not ordinarily disqualify you for LTCi. What LTC underwriters are primarily looking for are conditions that would make you a higher risk of needing extended care. Different companies have different underwriting requirements. Find an agent that your comfortable with and give it a shot. Worse thing that can happen is that you get declined and have to try somewhere else. You'll get any preliminary premium returned if your are declined.
Also, LTC policies generally do not have a pre-existing condition clause. You will either be approved or not. For some conditions if you ARE declined you may re-apply after a designated period of recovery time.
What trucking company will hire a driver with a pace maker?
If you can still pass a DOT physical with that pacemaker, most any one should. However, if you're not able to pass the DOT physical, none of them will.
What is considered the pacemaker of the heart?
The sinoatrial node is considered the pacemaker of the heart.
What is the salary for a pacemaker sales rep?
100000
Pacemaker Sales reps don't look at their salary, their pay is extremely weighted on commissions. Base salaries start around 40K and all "5" pacemaker companies pay different commission rates. $100,000 is typical "salary" for the technical/clinical people, not sales reps.
Did Robbie McNay play with Gerry and the Pacemakers?
I met him on a cruise, during Christmas/New Years, and he SAID he did!
