What is used to treat conjunctivitis?

chemotherapy of conjunctivitis

Omg. If you don't know the answer, then DON'T ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!

First, you should know what conjunctivitis is. Conjunctivitis is when the conjunctiva, the outermost layer of the eye, and the inside of the eyelids become swollen. This can be caused either by infection, which is contagious, or by allergies, which is not contagious. The symptoms are burning, itching, swelling, feeling like there is something in your eyes.

1. DO NOT MESS WITH YOUR EYES. if you leave them alone, they won't bother you as bad. no matter how bad they itch, don't mess with them! it will do you no favors. #2. Boil 2 cups of water, and add 3 tablespoons of honey. Stir until honey dissolves. Remove from burner. Let cool. Once it is cool, use as eye drops with eyedroppers.

#3. Wet 2 chamomile or echinacea tea bags with cool water, and place one on each closed eye for 10-15 minutes. Echinacea burns a bit though, so I would go with chamomile. If you do not have echinacea or chamomile, any tea will do, but those are the best. #4. Wet a waschloth with hot water, and place on eyes for 10 minutes. This also works if you use a cold waschloth.

I have conjunctivitis now, so I know these things work!

Pinkeye caused by a herpes virus, which is rare, can be treated with an antiviral medicine. Home treatment of viral pinkeye symptoms can help you feel more comfortable while the infection goes away. * If the pinkeye is caused by bacteria, the person can usually return to day care, school, or work 24 hours after an antibiotic has been started if symptoms have improved. Erythromycin ointment is perfectly fine to be used on eyelids. If you have a cut or laceration on the eyelid itself make sure that it is kept very clean. If there is a rash on the lid itself you have the option of scrubbing the lids with baby type shampoo that can help get rid of the rash. Please make sure you check with your local ophthalmologist if you are not noticing healing.

What do doctors recommend for pink eye?

go to the doctors about that, they should sort you out

you are asking about home treatment or natural remedies,

I found that a few things can be effective enough to avoid a a visit to medical professional.

Those are:

Wash your eye carefully with strong black tea, a few times a day. It has strong anti-bacterial qualities and might help to flash out the infection.

Take warn compress - I usually use warm hard-boiled egg wrapped in a small towel.

Take a good dose of vitamin C daily - the "good" dose varies from person to person, however I'd take 3-4 grams of pure, buffered vitamin C, like sodium ascorbate powder (not in tablets).

Like with any bacterial inflammation vitamin C is very good putting it down, when you take sufficient dose over time.

Your dog got pink eye how do you clean it?

You can dab a cotton ball in some warm water, apply it to the eyes for a few seconds, and then with a new damp cotton ball gently remove any discharge. You may also go to your local vet and ask for an eye cleaning solution and use this instead of water. Many of these solutions contain antibacterial properties and are helpful in inhibiting the growth of bacteria. Of course, also make sure to have your dog checked out by a vet so that proper treatment can be prescribed, as pink eye can be caused by a number of things that will not be cured just by simply cleaning the eyes, for example, foreign material stuck in the eye, bacterial infection, tumor, and so on. If drops are prescribed, you can clean the eyes using the same method before each application. If your eye burns do you have pink eye?

Not necessarily! It could just be an irritation or allergy. "Pink Eye" is a bacterial infection that require antibiotic eye drops. If your eye is burning without a nasty looking drainage it is more than likely an irritation or allergy. If your eye is burning and you have a headache and it hurts to blink you might have a corneal abrasion. Best thing to do when it concerns your eye and it has lasted more than 24 hrs is to have it checked by Doctor.

When you have reoccurring bouts of conjunctivitis this can be a sign of an underlying illness in the body. Most often these are rheumatic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus

What is the difference between pink eye and sore eyes?

Infectious pink eye (conjunctivitis) is highly contagious and should be treated with prescription eye drops. It can be caused by bacteria or a virus and can travel quickly through a classroom or family. The whites of the eye are extremely red, burning and with puss formation. Good hygiene is extremely important to prevent pink eye. That includes frequent washing of hands and always keeping your hands away from your face.

Many things can cause sore eyes such as eyestrain, allergies, dust, pollen, getting soap in your eye, improper eyeglass prescription, paint fumes, smoke, etc. Various types of over the counter eyedrops can help with these types of eye irritations. You should also try to eliminate the source of irritation if possible.
