User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No it is not.

In the early days of Pixar, when it used to be called the Computer Division at LucasFilms, they devoloped the Image Computer. When it was time to name it, Alvy Ray Smith suggested Pixer, to mean "make pictures". But someone else pointed out that radar ended with an 'ar' but still sounded high-tech so they ended up with "Pixar".

What is mean Rigging in animation?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I am new to rigging models, but it means taking an armature and using it to animate a model, usually a human like model to animate the model. the armature isn't rendered but the model moving is.

A better answer (I suppose) [FYI - I'm assuming u have a fair knowledge of 3D modelling]Well take rig at its literal meaning. It means to attach [u can check up online for various meanings]. Any ways, ya so rigging in terms of animation means to attach a skeleton to the model that has been created by you. The object is a surface consisting of vertices and nodes. Animating such an object can get very complicated because of that reason. So a thing called the bone or skeleton has been developed. Now the skeleton or bone system has to be attached to make your object move. This process is known as Rigging. Then the skeleton is animated and since it is rigged with the model the model moves too. N ya like our frend said the bone system is not rendered only the surface is. So if u have a few bones sticking out don't worry it wont show in your final render.
