Prednisone has very serious side affects. Make sure to consult your doctor often so he can moniter your health!
Prednisone belongs to a class of drugs termed glucocorticoids and is mostly used to suppress the immune system and reduce inflammation. Presnisone does not contain any additional medications and does not have codeine.
Yes you can. Low dose aspirin (82mg) is a sub-therapeutic dose concerning pain and is only effective as a "blood thinner"to prevent blood clots. It is too low of a dose to be of danger to use with oral prednisone.
It has to. I'm on them now for about the 7th time and my body hurts every single time. I'd like to add that I have had local steroid injections (back epidurals) with no problems. Oral prednisone, however, always leaves me feeling like I've had a very rough workout that hampers just about everything in my life, at the time. Naturally, my doctors don't give a crap: Dr. Walter Chmelewski of Triangle Arthritis and Rheumatology, in particular.
This means you MUST eat something when you take this medication or it will most likely upset your stomach, cause you pain or heartburn, and possibly make you vomit. A minimum of 2 saltines and some milk , unless the prescription says no dairy products. Then water will do, but nothing acidic.
You should check with the vet to be on the safe side, but some vets say a MAXIMUM of 1 mg. per 10 lbs of weight, on a twice daily dosage (every 12 hours). A lot of it depends on how serious the problem is, since it may not require a lot of Prednisone to alleviate your pet's symptoms or a less dangerous drug may be able to be used.
When i first started using prednisolone, doctors told me to swallow pils after meal and with a huge cup of water.
Here's a site that discusses dosing, uses, side effects, and other issues that you will want to discuss with your physician: http://www.medicinenet.com/prednisone/article.htm
Why would your hot water heater water while it's heating but doesn't when it isn't
anything under 30 days is ok to stop suddenly without weaning.
Prednisone in pill form as shipped from the drug company should have a shlef life of at least 2 - 3 years to account for shipping, storage and sales time. Often pharmacies use a one year expiration date which is not the actual date from the drug company. They are trying to be safe and account for poor storage, containers left in hot cars etc., and potentially for increased sales. If stored properly, ie not in sunlight or a humid area, 2 years from prescription date should be just fine.
Yes. If a doctor has prescribed both medicines for the same patient, they may be taken together.
As prescription drugs, prednisone and furosemide should only be used (alone or in combination) as prescribed.
According to my drug reference book, yes, you can take them together. You can also ask your pharmacist if you would like to have this confirmed.
Before trying to treat this with steroids, I would try Benedryl. You can give your dog human Benedryl and it will have the same effect it does in humans. Talk to you vet about specific dosing instructions.
You can. Remember that the Medrol is very harsh on the stomach. Have some food before you take each dose! The Zyrtec-D will make you feel jittery or nervous, and sometimes the steroid might also cause some jitteriness.
The best way of killing deadly bacteria using heat is to cook it. You can also boil or bake it.
I assume you mean predNisone. Why would you want to? It is an anti-inflamatory steroid. I would advise steering clear of the ecstasy personally...
12-6-12-6 is one option, but prednisone should be taken with food, and the prescriber normally doesn't intend for you to interrupt your sleep to take it. For that reason, prednisone qid is most often taken with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack near bedtime. Talk to your prescriber or pharmacist for advice specific to your situation.
