First of all...when your 14,you'll be able to work at Publix...at the J.A.C (Job Application Center) It says you can be either of the three:

~Bagger

~Cashier (I think that's 16 but they say its for 14 year olds too) ~Ask the Manager~

~Florist

Make sure when you go to J.A.C. you have your social security number..!It'll ask for that..!

I'm 14 and I'm going to become a bagger...they told me a few stuff in the interview...you'll be starting with $7.25 an hour...and if your good at bagging and you satisfy the customers you'll get a 25 cent raise...! You will be working 2 1/2 hours on school days...and 7 hours on Sundays...You'll pretty much hear about every little thing you need to know in your interview...! Make sure you update your application every MONTH..! sometimes if you need to...ask for the manager or try and meet the assistant manager and be cool and be yourself..!

you can work as a bagger but if they know you and your entremely trust worthy you may be hired as a cashier but when you apply the machine wont let you put cashier in just ask at your interview. i used to work at publix when i was 14 until i was almost 16 and i heard all the time about 14 year old cashiers in my store and others.

Depends on how many hours you are working. I started making 8$ an hour with no experience. I was making around 230 a week.

If your manager is trying to force you to work outside your availability and you are a part timer, go to your local Human Resources representative. The fact that you are part time is non negotiable and you are not obligated to work outside your availability. There are employees within the company who have never been full time and have been with the company for many years.

In order for you to make a complaint against your manager, you need to have filled out an availability chart and have it on file. The number posted in the break room for anonymous discrimination and harassment calls can be used if you wish to call attention to your manager's activities anonymously. However, if yours is the only complaint, the Human Resources rep might not find your cause. It might be better to speak to the HR rep on an individual basis. This number is posted right under the District Manager's number on the "Open Door Policy" poster in the break room.

Publix supports all it's employees, from the part time baggers to management, and realizes that sometimes it is merely a misunderstanding between employees.
