Bruce Willis' character, Butch, had just recently reneged on a business deal with Marcellus Wallace. Butch was supposed to fake a knock out in a boxing match fixed by Wallace. Instead, Butch planned to win the fight and get rich at the same time. He won the fight and escaped the arena before Wallace's men, Jules and Vincent, could get to him. Butch hid out overnight but, by unfortunate circumstances, he had to return to his apartment the next morning. Vincent was at the apartment waiting for him while reading a book in the bathroom and he did not hear Butch come in. Butch found Vincent's gun in the kitchen and he heard the toilet flush, so he knew that he was not alone in the apartment. When Vincent came out of the bathroom...whammo.

People think that the plaster on Marsellus' neck relates to the removal of his soul, which is wrong.

In the close up shot of the back of Marsellus' head, Ving Rhames has a scar on the back of his neck that Quentin Tarantino thought drew focus, so he covered is with a sticking plaster.

There was no character called Mr. Black in the movie 'Pulp Fiction.' If this is in reference to Quentin Tarantino's earlier film 'Reservoir Dogs' in which all of the main characters are named after colors, we are still in the dark as there was no Mr. Black in that film, either. According to Mr. White in 'Reservoir Dogs', played by Harvey Keitel, nobody was going to be named Mr. Black because there was too much competition for the name.

Bruce Willis returned to his old flat to collect his sentimental value watch that his girlfriend forgot to pick up. While in there Willis heard someone in the toilet and saw an unknown machine gun on the counter, and when Travolta came out Willis shot Travolta with his own gun.

Samuel Jackson's Character (Jules) and John Travolta's (Vincent) are very straightforward and classic Antisocial Personality Disorders, known as psychopathic and dissociative on their own their women that they involve themselves with present with a differing phenom.

In the scene where Jules and Vincent are transporting Marvin from the house and Vincent turns around and accidentally shoots Marvin in the face, the original cut included a shot of a fake head exploding on camera - then it cutting to a follow shot of blood splattering all over the inside of the car. Originally, this scene was dubbed too violent due to the head exploding and thus considering this film was already pushing boudries for an R-Film, the MPAA bumped the rating to an NC-17. Quickly realizing this, Tarantino agreed to cut out the head exploding scene, but the scene itself is still very graphic.

We know for certain that both Vincent and Jules knows the combination to the briefcase. At the apartment, Vincent opens the case to check the contents. Jules later opens the case at the coffee shop on Honey Bunny's command.

We could assume that at least one person at Brett's apartment knows the combination because he tells Vincent that "it's all there" (referring to the contents of the case.)


We can also assume that Marsellus Wallace knows the combination since Vincent and Jules are to deliver the case to him.

In 'Pulp Fiction', the character of Zed was played by Peter Greene.

The song is playing in the background when Vincent arrives to pick Mia up for their 'date'. She is seen in a media room, watching Vincent through closed circuit cameras and she speaks to him through an intercom. She tells him to get himself a drink and that she'll be down in three shakes of a lamb's tail. When she arrives in the room, the needle on the record player goes up and the song ends.
