Raggedy Ann and Andy

Raggedy Ann was a character in a series of children's books, "Raggedy Ann Stories." The books were written by Johnny Gruelle. In 1915, the character was turned into a doll. The doll was a popular fad at its release, and gained an iconic status as the years passed. Raggedy Ann had a brother, Raggedy Andy, that was also in the stories and created as a doll.
