Rey's father (according to the Rise of Skywalker novelization) is the failed clone and "son" of Emperor Sheev Palpatine. Unlike Palpatine and Rey, this clone had no force powers. The clone and his wife fathered Rey, making Darth Sidious (Emperor Palpatine) the grandfather of Rey.

What inspired Star Wars?

Not really a movie more of the basic idea of good vs. evil. Lucas was also inspired by the Nazis and Hitler with SS troopers being Stormtroopers and Emperor Sidious being Hitler. You can even go further in that Emperor Sidious really hates all other races except humans and that makes the Imperial Alliance a mostly human army and navy.

Some of them are. Most of the books are either events in between the movies or events before and/or after the movies.
