pull forearm off. open barrel and remove. drift 2 trigger assembly pins out. pull trigger ass. down and out. now drift the barrel catch pin and the lever and catch can be removed.

I do not think that they make larger clips for the Savage model 62.I know for certain that they do not make larger clips for the Savage model 64.

The Stevens model 9478 was made from 1978-1985.for a exact year of production,you will need to contact Savage Arms Company who made the Stevens line of shotguns.

If there is no serial number, it is a 1960's model-up to 1968. In 1968 a law was passed requiring all guns to have a serial number.

My records indicate that the first Savage model 110 rifles were made in 1958.The model 110L was made later than 1965.The very early models did not have a letter designation attached to the number 110.

The stevens model 94 began production in 1929.The model 94C was made from the 1950,s on and Stevens were still producing them well into the 1980,s.I will assume that yours was produced some time in the 1950,s.

Most likely 1969. To be sure look on the barrel, you will see a proof mark in a circle. The letter will be following one or two numbers. V=1968 W=1969 X=1970. Add or subtract to find your year.

Most rifles that were chambered in 303 Savage will be the early ,model 1899.These rifles can bring between 450-1,200 dollars,based on exsisting original finish remaining and a good bore.

I can say that with the markings of J Stevens Arm and Tool Co.your shotgun was produced sometime between 1886-1916.All firearms were marked so during this time span.There may well be no serial number assigned due to this not being required until the year 1968 with the adoption of the gun control act of that year.

I am going to guess that it was made in either 1953-1954.by the serial number provided.The last recorded serial number that I have is 566,000 which was the start of the year 1950.

There isn't a 220P. There is a 220F, which is bolt action, and a 220B, which is single shot and breaks open. It will state on the barrel if it is 2-3/4" or 3". 3" will fire either. You can load a 3" into a 2-3/4" chamber, but you should not.

Both guns will handle all modern 12 gauge ammo, as long as you stick to the proper length shell if it is 2-3/4"

Next is the choke. It is possible to fire slugs through any choke, but it is not recommended to fire them through anything tighter than Improved cylinder (IC). It should state on the barrel. I expect most are "Mod" (Modified) which is tighter than IC.
