There were three young children on United Airlines Flight 175, which hit the south tower. There were not any on Flight 11 that hit the north tower. But there were also five other children on American Airlines Flight 77, which crashed into the Pentagon.

People jumped from the towers after all hope of rescue was lost, and because the prospect of a quick painless death was better than slowly and painfully burning to death in the flames and smoke; therefore the jumpers, as they came to be known, were first seen as the flames cut off sections of the towers, isolating officeworkers. As the fire spread and trapped more people, we saw more tragic examples of these famed 'jumpers'. If I had to give a time, I would estimate between 8:48 and 10:30.

American Airlines Flight 11 hit the North Tower between the 93rd and the 98th floors

There was a daycare center in one of the towers, so yes, there were children; however, none of them were killed since it was on a lower floor so the daycare staff was able to get them all out safely.

The planes got hijacked because the terrorists wanted to commit suicide. So they thought that everyone else should die with them too. Lets just say that they were crazy locos with no brains. Before they hijacked the plane they said the Lords prayer.
