The Amazing Race, sometimes referred to as TAR, is a reality television game show in which teams of two people (except for Season 8, which had teams of four people), who have some form of a preexisting personal relationship, race around the world in competition with other teams. Contestants strive to arrive first at "pit stops" at the end of each leg of the race to win prizes and to avoid coming last, which carries the possibility of elimination or a significant disadvantage in the following leg. Contestants travel to and within multiple countries in a variety of transportation modes, including planes, taxis, rental cars, trains, buses, boats, and by foot. The clues in each leg point takes the teams to the next destination or direct them to perform a task, either together or by a single member. These challenges are related in some manner to the country or culture where they are located. Teams are progressively eliminated until three are left; at that point, the team that arrives first in the final leg is awarded a grand prize of $1 million.

How much time between legs of amazing race?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Typically there are 12 hours between legs of the Amazing Race. Those breaks are a time for rest, laundry and research that the teams use to re-energize, socialize and prepare for the next set of challenges.

Production details and exact itineraries are kept secret - so there is some variation but it is not generally publicized. In later seasons there were also challenging "double legs" which took the competitors immediately on to the next leg without a rest or "win" - which can really test the teams physical and mental endurance.

In a show called the amazing race where do the people sleep?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The contestants can usually spend the night wherever they want (as long as they have the cash, they can stay in a hotel).

Some legs of the race require an overnight stay in a specific place as part of the task.

Often, though, to make sure they keep their place in line at a gate that opens in the morning, they sleep on the street with their camping gear.

After the last race of the season what determines who wins the Nextel cup the points leader or the winner of the race?

the points leader. The closest the winner of the last race of the season came close to winning the Cup was in 1992, when Atlanta race winner Bill Elliott lost the Cup by a mere 10 points to Alan Kulwicki who finished second in the race (and had led 1 more lap than Elliott to get the 5 extra bonus points for leading the most laps)

uh NO ...sorry! In the second test bet, they gave Lonnegan the "shut-out" and he couldn't get the bet down in time on Wrecking Crew, who won all alone. Joe Erie said "Should have had your money on Wrecking Crew!" At the final sting, Lonnegan put half a million on Lucky Dan to win. But Kid Twist said "place it on Lucky Dan" to place- he's gonna run SECOND!
