It would appear that the charactor "Sloth" suffered from a syndrome developed as a child called, CRANIAL METEOPHYSEAL DISPLASIA. That syndrome would not explain the speech development issues though. Not sure what to pin that on.

I'd say that Sloth was the hero. All the kids were heroes in their own right, but Sloth was the one who rebelled against his family (the Fratellis) and saved the day in the end.
Although, I guess you could also argue that One-Eyed Willy is the hero.
