How do you beat the castle on Eragon?
If you mean the castle with the towers, you first have to go up, follow the way up. Than you have to do the spells that are on the stone's (If you go and stand by as close as possible, you'll see the sign's of the spells), I finished the game but it is a long time ago so I'm got to guess the way how its going, I thought you first have to explode the statues with your lightning spell. Than I think you have to petrify stone platforms, and jump to the other side. I'm not sure but I think you have to blow some stones up, and on the last tower you have to open the book on the statue, so you can update a spell, personally I always update my lightning spell, and you can travel from tower to tower if you go and stand on the Eragon sign and press A, than Saphira (I hope this is the right spelling, cause this is how you write Saphira in dutch) will pick you up.

Why did Eragon put calluses on his knuckles?
He did this so as to avoid greatly damaging his hands should he punch through anyone's armour (or anything else that would badly damage his hands).
