Where in the spirit temple do you get the mirror shield because you cant go inside as adult?
The spirit temple is in two halves, you get there as an adult and discover you can't do anything. You then have to return as a child using the spirit temple warp song that is taught to you by Shiek. Once you are there as a child, you meet Nabuuro (I think thats her name, haven't played in a while) who asks you to retrieve a treasure for her. You crawl through the hole and do that half of the temple. Eventually you find the silver gauntlets, the treasure Nabuuro was looking for. A cut scene then plays, showing Nabuuro being abducted by the witches. She tells you to 'Get out of here Now!'. This concludes your child exploration of the spirit temple. You then go back to the temple of time and turn into an adult, returning to the Spirit temple with the iron gauntlets equipped. You can now move the heavy stone blocking the way and complete the second half of the temple. During the exploration of the second half, you find the mirror shield which is a key item in the final boss battle of the spirit temple.

Actually no, he means at the very end even after the credits when young Link returns to princess Zelda as a child. I think Zelda is surprised to see Link because when they first meet in the very beginning of the game she had no idea who he was and he surprised her (watch the cut scene again). But now he has returned and one of two things could happen:
1. They both have there memory and Link wants to be with her and she is surprised to see him, in a good and happy way.
2. Zelda lost her memory when Link was returned to the past and surprised because she doesn't know who he but Link wants to be with her so now they have to start over, kind of a mysterious sad ending.
so you can take the ending either way its up to you.
