Jace and Cary are together. Jace is freaking out because he keeps having reoccurring nightmares that whenever they get close, he tries to kill her. He's so afraid something bad's happening to him that he distances himself from her to keep her safe. She gets pissed.
Meanwhile Simon get approached by Camille (head of Rafael's vampire clan) to join her side against Rafael. After that, he is being stalked and attacked by random people and his mark of Cain is protecting him. He thinks they're all related.
He also tries to tell his mom he's a vampire and he freaks out. He's so hurt he moves out and stays with his newest band member (lead singer). He's also attempting to date both Isabelle and Maia at the same time and has no idea who to choose or how to tell the other. He gets caught and dumped by both.
Camille talks with Magnus (hint from ID series-- Magnus and Camille are exes) and
Alec gets jealous and he's questioning His and Magnus' relationship.

She wants Simon to bite him and bring him back while Jace holds Clary hostage (under Lilith's control).
Simon goes missing and everyone's frantic to find him. They go to his band
member's place where Maia meets him and freaks out because Simon's and member is a werewolf... and he's Jordan, the overpossessive boyfriend of Maia who turned her. She freaks. They all go to try to find everybody.
Clary realizes the reason Jace is under her control is because Lilith Marked him and Clary takes a knife and severs the mark from him where all together they defeat Lilith, but not before Simon's begun to bring Sebastian back.
As they're all away and celebrating and explaining, Jace is still there and Johnathan wakes up and has complete control over Jace-- they become bound, you can't kill one without killing the other.
