Since when has this been a rule? I saw people wearing stripes when I went.

EDIT: It's not a rule that you can't, but you might get dirty looks for it. In the film, there was about 2 seconds of recording where you could see crew members with striped sweatshirts on. If stripes are part of your costume, you'll be fine though. Just don't wear striped sweatshirts.

Richard O'Brien had an idea to make a campy musical play about horror & sci fi movies. What he ended up with was "The Rocky Horror Show." When the movie was made, it was renamed "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."

During the "Time Warp" song, I too recognised one of the flags as being the former South African flag. I am not sure if it is upside down, but I am pretty sure it's there.

Basic List of Props and Instructions 1) Rice - At the beginning of the film is the wedding of Ralph Hapschatt and Betty Munroe. As the newlyweds exit the church, you should throw the rice along with the on-screen wedding guests. 2) Newspapers - When Brad and Janet are caught in the storm, Janet covers her head with a newspaper, "The Plain Dealer." At this point, you should likewise cover your head. 3) Water pistols- These are used by members of the audience to simulate the rainstorm that Brad and Janet are caught in. (Now do you see why you should use the newspapers?) 4) Rubber gloves - During and after the creation speech, Frank snaps his rubber gloves three times. Later, Magenta pulls these gloves off his hands. You should snap your gloves in sync each time to create a fantastic sound effect. 5) Noisemakers - At the end of the creation speech, the Transylvanians respond with applause and noisemakers. You should do the same. 6) Confetti - At the end of the "Charles Atlas Song" reprise, the Transylvanians throw confetti as Rocky and Frank head toward the bedroom. You should do the same. 7) Toilet paper - When Dr. Scott enters the lab, Brad cries out "Great Scott!" At this point, you should hurl rolls of toilet paper into the air. (Preferably Scotts brand.) 8) Toast - When Frank proposes a toast at dinner, members of the audience throw toast into the air. (Preferably unbuttered - things could get sticky.) 9) Party hat - At the diner table, when Frank puts on a party hat, you should do the same. 10) Bell - During the song "Planet Schmanet," ring the bell when Frank sings "Did you hear a bell ring?" 11) Cards - During the song "I'm Going Home" Frank sings "Cards for sorrow, cards for pain." At this point you should shower the theater with cards.

Initially, Mr Schuester wanted Kurt to play Doctor Frank-N-Furter, but Kurt ends up playing Riff-Raff instead.

I believe Richard O'Brien wrote it as an homage to the old horror movies he had remembered and loved. Innocent couple go to dark old house and meet sinister people, etc. He obviously put more of an up to date tilt on it though!

well i can't exactly answer that. Old fans die out and new ones are born. Theaters close down and new ones open. And the movie is only getting older.

It's impossible to know just how many people see it live each year. And I'm sure it differs each year because of locations of theaters that open up and events that might happen.

since when do rocky horror bobbleheads exist?

there are Rocky Horror action figures with rather large heads, but there aren't any bobbleheads that i know of. Trust me, I've tried finding a lot of Rocky Horror merchandise. RHPS is my one and only obsession.

Hm... I haven't seen Shock Treatment. YET! I really want to see it though. Maybe this weekend. I'll definitely be looking for similar props. I'll come back to this question when I find out. I'm only answering Rocky Horror related questions. haha
