it depends on age

if the children are younger than 11 i would say chessington because the rides there are more appropriate for them and they will be able to ride on all of them

but thorpe park is better for older children as the rides are bigger and bertter but they have height restrictions

overall, thorpe park is better :)

How many staff work at Thorpe Park?

It's difficult to give a precise answer. Many of the staff are seasonal or part time. Also the amount of staff in at any one time varies from day to day, depending on opening hours, time of year, day of the week, and special occasions. I know that the rides team is roughly 200 people on the payroll during the season, and goes down to a mere 20 or so in the winter. And the rides team has a minimum of 40 or 50 people in each day I think. The retail department only needs 20 in at a time, and I think they probably have near 100 people in total during the season, and very few over the winter. There are about 30 engineers, and 10 directors (the top brass) who are there all year round. I'm not sure how many engineers there are each day but probably no more than 10. Food and Beverages probably also have about 100 people in total during the season, and again very few off season. I think they need a fair few in each day so I would guess about 30. Then there are the cleaners, they have quite a lot in total and quite a lot in each day, but pretty much none off season. So I guess maybe 200 in total, 40 in each day. Admissions probably have about 50 in total, no one off season, and maybe 25 in each day. Then there's Landscape, they have 20 people or so, but I dont think they are in all the time, just when things need doing. Entertainments have loads I would guess at least 100, but not too many in each day perhaps 20 at most. I don't think they have anyone over the winter. Then there are lots of little departments, Security, Cast Facilities, Events, Sales and Promotions, First Aid, Guest Services, etc. A lot of them share staff (ie security guards are first aid trained, or work on Guest Services occasionally, etc.) but if you include all the "suits" like Marketing and stuff like that, then they probably total about 100. I can't think of any other departments really, except Photos, Games, and The Burger King, KFC, and Pizza Hut staff. None of these are actually paid by Thorpe Park, they are run by other companies who pay Thorpe Park I think. SO I'm not going to count them, but if you want to know they probably account for another 100 in total, during the season. So that makes it about... well you do the math!

Is saw the ride at thorpe park scary for 12 year olds?

it is half scary half not. my friend went on it and he's 9, it depends on your height. Its not recommended for under 12's but if your under 12 you can still go on it depending on your height. In the building it has a big blast of air to make you jump on the ceiling and a few dead dummies. my friend said it's amazing, and he's got the onride photo,...

he's screaming! Next time i go to thorpe, I'm gonna go on it even though I'm 10.

Hope that helped!

Thx :D

SPOILER-!!!!!!!

Hi!

I have been on SAW and I think it is a tiny bit scary. Well basically you que up outside to start with (get there early for shorter ques, I qued 2 and a half hours!) outside there is a police car with fake blood and speakers that say stuff like 'hey can anyone here me' and they scream and stuff. There is also some machines that are used in the SAW movie as torture machines. These are behind the barbed wire fencing. Then you enter the inside area where on the wall in red 'blood' (paint) it says 'The games have just begun' I got shocked because there was this light that explodes like a gun and it is quite dark. You walk further up the stares and behing glass there is a fake dummy covered in blood and lying in barbed wire. There are numerous tv screans around you which contain videos from the ride (like cctv) and also some talks from Jigsaw (the saw movie puppet) when you get to the boarding area you have to put your bags behind a desk, collect a black wwristband and go in your selected lane. There are also manichans which arent scary at all. as soon as your on the ride it turns the corner and Jigsaw is there riding a tricycle. He is not that scary. Only a tiny bit. Then you see these swinging axes which looks like you are gonna crash into them but then you drop down 90 degrees and go into a immelmann loop. There is also a dead girl dummy which squirts out fake blood. Then it comes out to the outside bit, You wait lookin up at two screens which is Jigsaw telling you about the rest of the ride. Then you start heading up. I think heading up is the scariest part. It goes really slow and is quite high. It then comes to the drop which I think is over really quickly but makes your tummy turn. After there are numerous loops and corkscrews. =] I was 11 when I went on it so Yeah, I do think it is sutible for 12 year olds. But not if you don't like the look of Jigsaw. the puppet =] x
