Well its to introduce the book. But if u look at it(not really look but think) there is a hidden meaning. It Forshadows the whole book. Every one of the people mentioned in the actual first chapter are linked at first u dont no how but if u read the book ull find out. it very interesting. I love books like that where its a mystery then after it all u have to link stuff together and it makes sense!

Ive read Tuck Everlasting. And a minor charactor would probably be the man in the yellow suit. Or if any others Granny Foster.

The ending to the book is that the Tucks move away until it's safe to come back. Jesse gives Winnie a bottle of the water and tells her to drink it when she's 17 and he'll be back for her. In the very end, Mae and Angus Tuck go back to Treegap in the 1950s and find that Winnie had very recently died. This isn't really much to do with the ending, but I just think it's cool: In the book, Winnie meets this frog that keeps coming back, and at the end before you find out she died, she poured the special water on the frog to make sure it was safe from a dog that was trying to kill it. Then, when they find out that Winnie was dead, Angus almost runs over the frog with their car and says, "This frog thinks he can live forever." And he can!

Oh, dude, Miles Tuck? He's like this immortal guy from that book "Tuck Everlasting." He's been around for centuries, so I guess you could say he's got some serious life experience. Plus, he's got a pretty chill attitude about the whole eternal life thing.

Winnie Foster is the most courageous character in Tuck Everlasting because she chose not to be immortal. She had the opportunity to drink water from the Tucks, and to have immortal life.

The music box wasn't't elves like het grandma thought. It wad Mae Tuck's valuable music box.
