If you normally take 7.5 slash 500 mg Hydrocodone APAP for pain what dose would you consume for an equivalent effect taking Tylenol 3 at 300 slash 30 mg per pill or Nucynta at 50 mg per pill?

I just started taking Nucynta 50mg today! i was taking 7.5 percocets. The doc said since this is a new drug they start out as 50mg. since im small take one first. I have a tolerance for vicodine so the sent me to percs and 7.5 wasnt cutting it. made me high feeling and then really tierd latter. It is similar to morphine. you don't get that tierd comedown as you would with percs. 100mg is the max. He said take one pill on the first day, the second dose may be as soon as one hour after the first dose, if adequate is not attained with the first dose. Subsequent dosing is 50 mg, 75 mg, or 100 mg every 4 to 6 hours and should be adjusted to maintain adequate analgesia with acceptable tolerability. maximum of three doses in 24 hours.

So basically take 1 and see how it does. You should feel it within an hour. If needed take another. I wouldn't take anymore than 2 until later. to see how you feel.

Best way I know, and maybe the best money can buy other than actually going to her clinic is to get the book "The Mood Cure" by Julia Ross. Great book, fascinating subject. Too bad more people don't know about it. She runs a clinic in Northern California to "improve peoples' moods" if you want to use that term. There are other clinics around that also do this work, such as Joan Mathews Larson in Minnesota. It's probably mostly for drug addicts, but she uses the term "mood" to indicate in laymen's terms that she deals with anyone whose neurotransmatters are off leading them to "self medicate" by using different, legal and illicit drugs and food substances to create emotional states they prefer because for a variety of individual reasons their bodies are not producing different neurotransmitters in sufficient amounts to naturally feel as good as they should from just eating a good diet. Taking amino acids in many cases can improve your mood within minutes of taking, but especially if you are deficient in neurotransmitters it will be short lived if you don't take them regularly. The book is probably at your local Borders if you want to check it out. She's so good that she can tell by the drugs you use which neurotransmitters you are low in. She has a general protocol of supplements, available at just about any health food store, to restock your brain with the correct neurotransmitters. You're restocking the real neurotransmitters your brain needs, so you continue to feel better and better as you go along and, therefore, are less likely to relapse. The likelyhood of relapse without replenishing your neurotransmitters is actually pretty high. Rus Limbaugh ain't the only person on earth that feels bad. Different amino acids go into making different neurotransmitters, for example, if you get depressed, which can cause you to eat certain bad foods, drink and take different drugs, you may be short in the neurotransmitter serotonin. Tryptophan, which is in short supply in most people's diet, is the amino acid you take for that, along with supporting supplements. There are other things you would need to take for heroin, cocaine, marijuana, alcohol, use etc. depending on which neurotransmitter deficiency they mask. Some aspects of this program can heal some of the damage of drug use yoo.

Many people do not know this but Bill W., a co-founder of AA, struggled with cravings for alcohol, for which he tried many things, for many years after becoming sober. He eventually became friends with Dr. Abraham Hoffer, a Canadian Psychiatrist and PhD. with a great track record for treating Schizophrenics nutritionally. Dr. Hoffer is also one of the founding fathers of nutritional medicine (Orthomolecular Medicine), a great man who died last year and believe me, is greatly missed. He turned Bill W. onto "The Niacin Therapy" as they called it and it was the only thing that worked on his cravings. Bill W. wrote 3 papers about the therapy to the AA doctors, who had taken over much of AA leadership, to convince them of its use. They poo pooed him because he wasn't a medical doctor, and felt that releaving these "drunks" of their "pain" would cause them to just go for the niacin therapy and forego the spiritual aspects of the program and, therefore, defeat it's purpose. (Personally I find it sadistic to deprive people of something they actually need to function properly and arrogant to think that you know enough to control people's lives in this manner. Many lives have been damaged, riddled with relapses keeping this information from people.) So ironically, Bill W. spent the rest of his life introducing other people outside of AA to "The Niacin Therapy." The Niacin Therapy which Dr. Hoffer used on Schizophrenics, many of whom were alcoholics who self medicated, was niacin which he modified according to an individual's need and added other supplements according to their health. The dose of niacin was usually 3,000 mg of niacin daily, or more, often with 1,000 or more mg of vitamin C and other supplements as needed. He successfully treated thousands of people this way.

What will happen if you take codiene paracetemol and ibrofen together with alcohol you have just had a hernia op?

Typically all painkillers and relievers when mixed with alcohol will cause your body to partially process the alcohol to a much more toxic form and have it sit in your liver while your body tries to process the pain medicine first. This toxin sits in your system for a long period of time instead of being converted quickly into digestable sugars making the combination of alcohol and many medicnes, especially pain medicine, very damaging to your liver. Additionally in large doses or weak systems can cause liver failure. Drinking 2 beers and taking 2 Tylenol is as bad for your liver as drinking a bottle of liqour in one sitting, doing this for extended periods of time WILL cause severe if not fatal damage.

NEVER Mix Alcohol With Pain Medicine!!!

Your doctor will not crucify you for wanting to have a few drinks but he will for mixing potentially lethal drug combinations without discussing it first with them.

Can you mix advile and Tylenol 3?

A good rule of thumb is that you should only take a maximum of 1000mg of acetaminophen (Tylonel) per 6 hours and up to 600 mg of ibuprofen (Advil) every 6 hours. Whether you combine these two medications should be recommended by your doctor, but it is relatively safe if you stay less than these amounts. Many doctors do prescribe ibuprofen along with codeine/APAP or hydrocodone/APAP. There are long term effects of taking too much of either, including liver or kidney issues.
