Um, no. He does have unusual hair, but Weird Al never worked as a waiter. The only job he had as an adult before he became successful in music and comedy was working for a radio syndication company, mostly in the mail room. The people who lived in his dorm in college started calling him "Weird Al," so he used it as his on-air name when he worked as a disc jockey on the campus radio station at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

The truth is, Weird Al isn't all that weird really. He has a great, wacky sense of humor but he's very down to earth and friendly.
