Wilt played two seasons with the University of Kansas Jayhawks. Both seasons the Jayhawks won the Big 7 Championship and in 1956-1957 season, the Jayhawks played the University of North Carolina in the National Championship game. He decided to turn pro after his junior year but could not play in the NBA because the NBA did not accept players that had not finished their four years of college.
