Who were the first people to practice black magic?
One opinion:
The practise of Magick originates from ancient civilisations such as the Egyptians, Celts, African Tribes, Aztecs, Mayans, Aryans, and Latins. There is no black or white, as magick is simply the practise of energy manipulation, rather than a thing in its own right. Whether the magick is positive or negative is down to the practitioner.
A Witch's Answer
Witchcraft, or the craft of a witch, or "the Craft" are the names given to a number of Earth based spiritual paths and/or belief systems. Commonly referred to as Paganism by a goodly number of its practitioners, it is a positive force guided and used for the betterment of the practitioner and those who have specifically given their consent to have that practitioner work for them.
We are as diverse a group as could be gathered under one umbrella term, and I can only speak for myself and members of my own circle.
Most of us gather eight times a year to celebrate and worship. These are seasonal celebrations known as Sabbats.
Some of us gather at the full and/or dark moon to worship and work. These are smaller and more personal gatherings known as Esbats.
Some of us have daily or weekly devotionals that we practice within our own homes and lives. These are very personal.
Each individual makes a personal choice how much, how often and what they will be involved with.
One of the fundamental aspects of my own spiritual path is the practice of magic. The manipulation of naturally occurring powers by the hand and will of an ethical practitioner.
Spells are not real. You can not teach any one spells or do spells.
Another Opinion
Much as there are people in this world who do not believe in magic in any of its forms, there are also a large number of people who do.
Spells are one of the many ways an ethical practitioner of magic accesses the naturally occurring powers commonly called magic (sometimes spelled magik to differentiate it from stage magic.
A spell is usually made specifically for a need. It should be researched, carefully reviewed and then performed.
Telling you a "random" spell, for you to try is not going to do you any good as each one needs to be "tailor made." You need to do the hard work for yourself in order for it to work correctly.

Yes magic is real. And no its not the cliched "hurling lightning and smiting fools with flames" working magic is the process of tapping into the innermost fragment of our mind, the part that only wakes when your asleep (i forget what its called) and using the energy within this part of your mind to reach out and reshape the channels of supernatural/metaphysical energy that are in constant ebb and flow around us. there are different archetypes of magic. natural magic usually relies on special herbs, stones and oils and are mainly used for influencing the weather, or healing. i wont go any further into that branch because it would take a long time to explain all of the sub-branches of it. Black magic is the forceful manipulation of the channels of energy to satisfy your whims and to curse other people, black magic can be crafted (in some measure) from the same items used in natural magic, but can (and usually does...) go to serious extremes ranging anywhere from animal sacrifice, to human sacrifice and pacts with Satan or his minions. BE WARNED ABOUT BLACK MAGIC! AN ANCIENT MAGIC LAW KNOW AS "THE RULE OF THREEFOLD RETURN" STATES THAT ANY USE OF FOUL OR EVIL MAGIC WILL RESULT IN THE SPELL EVENTUALLY COMING FULL CIRCLE AND HARMING THE CASTER! (or worse, using black magic to contact and make a deal with Satan or his minions can result in your becoming said evil spirits personal (pet would be putting it too nicely)(in the afterlife...)
Why do people assume that witches are bad?
Thank you for your answer but I want to hear from people who DO think we are evil. Thank you again. (AS THIS IS MY QUESTION, I ASKED IT AND I WANT TO KNOW WHY THOSE WHO DO THINK WE ARE EVIL, THINK THAT.)
GREAT ANSWER ABOVE
Wicca ( properly pronounced witcha) is the Old English word for what we now call a shaman. The reason why we think of witches and pagans in general as being evil is that conquering religions always demonize the practices of the religions they replace. In fact, pagans are just as morally good or bad as everyone else, with this difference: pagans never have religious wars, or burn people at the stake, the way Christians do.

Who is the goddess of witchcraft?
This depends on the Witch. Different Witches follow different Goddess's or Gods, depending on their religious association. Many Pagan Witches have either a Matron Goddess or a Patron God or both, whom is/are their primary focus of worship. Many Wiccans follow a similar system. Many Wiccans believe in an all-encompassing creative force known as "The All", "The Source (of all Life)", "The Creator", which is comprised by the polarities of both the God (the Lord), and the Goddess (The Lady.)

In a young girl's heart
Yes, Magic abounds in the world around us, first of all you need to believe.
'Witchcraft' is not a specific practice or discipline. The word can be used to refer to a vast number of magical practices throughout the ages. Even modern witchcraft (as used by numerous groups of witches, neopagans and other magical practitioners) cannot be said to have a single origin: what is 'witchcraft' to one group would not be recognised as such by another.
In the broadest terms, witchcraft as sorcery and sympathetic magic has its roots in the mists of prehistory and it's impossible to identify a single individual - or even a single culture - who could be said to have invented it.
What is a member of a coven called?
The leader of a coven is a witch. Male of female, they are a witch first. In some groups they are called a High Priest and/or High Priestess. Generally speaking all practitioners are Priests/Priestesses as they all have the right and ability to speak directly to their deities, If you encounter a Witch Queen, you are talking to a woman who has created and lead three or more covens (circles or groups).
Can you use witchcraft for good?
there is no right or wrong answer!
A Pagan Answer
All magic should be used for good... it works better that way... there is also the Rule of Three to take into account and the simple fact that magic should always be done with the complete knowledge and express permission of the person the "spell" is being cast upon.
How do you know if your magic?
everyone is capable of preforming magic, no one individual is magical or not. Magic isn't like Harry Potter, it works subtly and for everyone in different ways
Magic is art which you practice and develop however the level of magic each individual can have access too differs to self belief, concentration etc.
Simply stated, if you are magic or magical, you know. If you don't know, you aren't.
Are there such things as spells and what not?
Spells are magickal workings, performed the world over for things such as healing, abundance, attraction, and more besides. They utilise visualisation, energy raising and channelling, and the focusing of intent. Spells performed as part of Magickal workings are an entirely different thing to the staged magic of Magicians common at children's parties and television shows.
____
People sometimes do and sometimes don't believe in spells.
Scientists havent prooved there was such a thing and personally I don't believe.
Answer 2:
(Edit: Someone wrote, before it was edited with the answer above, the spells do exist. The answer below is an alternative although the answer above sums it up. In the end it is a personal decision.)
I have to disagree and tell you that they do not exist. I assume with 'what not' you mean other 'magical' things.
Although I try to respect other people's beliefs, I would just like to give a second opinion on this question.
If you need examples: When you watch ANY magician perform: in the end it is possible to explain how he/she did it with a trick. Everything is scientifically explainable because everything has a pattern and is determined, even love. Although, undoubtly, a wonderful feeling, it is in the end just a simple process of neurological pathways and hormones interacting with each other. But I digress; if you do find/see/experience something that you don't understand: GOOGLE it! Inform yourself, ask a doctor, ask a friend BUT please don't rely on your own preception of things because in the end you will believe in what you yourself are 'programmed' to believe. (With programmed I mean the way your brain as grown and developed over the years).
A Pagan Perspective
Spells are a part of the practice of some (but not all) forms of Paganism. They are formalised manners in which to focus the intent of the practitioner.
The creation of a spell involves a fair amount of work and research. Many things, including phase and house of the moon, deities to call, herbs, stones, incense, colours and many other matters are involved and finding just the right ones are important.
Magic is simply stated the manipulation of naturally occurring powers by the hand and will of an ethical practitioner. For all that, the practice is much harder than it sounds.
Manifestation is the practice of visualising a need in such a manner as to bring it into your life.
This does not mean you can have big bags of money falling from an empty sky into your backyard, but more likely if you as manifesting prosperity into your life, a career, opportunity, or windfall will come your way.
Nothing comes from nothing, the gods/universe expect you to work for what you get. And once you are working toward your goal, they will help.

What is the difference between witchcraft and divination?
The belief in witchcraft is just one type of superstition. Other types of superstition include the belief in "lucky numbers", astrology, and many others more.
To the Christian religion yes, not Wicca though.
As this question was asked in the Paganism category, one Pagan answer is "most certainly not". The concept of "sin" is not really one that Pagans in general adhear to.
Witch craft - the craft or practice of a witch often known as magic is the manipulation of naturally occurring forces by the hand and will of a (hopefully) ethical practitioner. There is nothing "sinful" in what we do.

Concentrate on the black candle and send all the energy to the black candle with then negativities of the evil spell.
Think that all the effects of the black magic spell will be burnt down as the candle burns.
Light the candle and think taat the spell will be broken.
Let the candle burn till the water flows in and extinguish the flame.
Dig a hole on the earth, as far from your home, where noone will dig again, preferably a forest.
Put the water in to the hole with the candle (remaining peice).
Close the hole and know that the evil spell is no more...
For good results, do in the wanning phase of the moon.

Answer:
The answer above is from those who perform magic - it is not an Islamic answer. Beware! The Islamic answer is: 1) repent to God and purify yourself, 2) recite the Qur'an. Keep reciting. Al-Fatihah, Al-Baqarah, Ayyatul Kursee, the last three chapters. In fact any of the Qur'an. Read - everyday - until the effects are gone.
It cannot be determined, it all depends on the person using it
For example:
An evil use of magick would be: summoning energy or a being with intent to do harm or murder of an object or living thing.
A good use of Magick would be: summoning energy or a being with intent to improve the physical condition of a object or living thing.
The correct spelling of the noun is "medicine" (drug) and the adjective is "medical".
