It hasn't been cancelled, if it had been it wouldn't be returning at all, let alone in January.
As for Why, no one here knows exactly why Cartoon Network imposes these hiatus for their shows.
If someone were to guess, it's possible the episodes are not ready for air, or perhaps they want them to last through the year so they don't air them all at once.

As a superpower, no.
In general, I don't recall off hand but probably not. They may not want to show a character being rude and crude but, perhaps Kid Flash after one of pig outs on food, may have burped.

As of the last episode in season 1 there are seven: Kid Flash, Superboy, Aqualad, Robin, Artemis, Zatanna, and Rocket
The Flash can refer to a couple different people.
The first is Jay Garrick, the original Flash. He gained the ability to run at superspeed through a lab accident. He appeared mostly in the Golden Age of comics (the 1930's through the early 1950's) but occasionally shows up in modern media as a retired Flash.
The second is Barry Allen. He is one of the two most mainstream Flashes. Barry was a forensic scientist with a habit of running late, but one night a bolt of lightning struck a shelf of chemicals, which crashed over him, giving him superspeed.
The third is Wally West, the second most mainstream Flash. He was originally Barry Allen's sidekick, Kid Flash, until Barry died. Wally is Barry's nephew, who got his powers on a visit to the police station where Barry worked when the exact same lab accident that gave Barry his powers occurred again (in some versions, Wally recreated the event himself to give him his powers).
