Anything that throws an object CAN do damage. Airsoft guns are intended to REDUCE the chance of damage. You should NEVER point ANY gun at anything you do not wish to damage. An airsoft pellet in a person's eye can do damage- and they can knock a glass vase off the table.

How bad it hurts son the weight of BB being used. Heavier BB means more force/energy. KE=(MV^2)/2. The higher the energy, the more it's hurt. Being shot with 300 fps with 0.25 grams BB hurts more than being shot by 0.2 grams BB at the same speed. I hope this answer can help you. Airsoft weapons can leave anything from a purple mark, to a nasty welt (this is mostly dependent on the gun's fps). A shot in the eye could lead to permanent blindness. The shot will usually sting.
