Sure, if they have the same voltage.
7900 - 7200 = 700
These figures represent capacities of use for batteries. If a device uses 50 mA an hour on a 800 mAH battery, the device would operate for 16 hours before depleting the battery. If the same device was connected to a 700 mAH battery, the device would operate for 14 hours before depleting the battery.
It depends on the voltage. WH = Watt Henry, mAH = milliamp Henry, watts = amps * volts and milliamps= 1000 * amps. Thus the conversion is: mAH = 1000 * WH / V, where V is the voltage. I'm looking at the battery for my Dell Studio and it's rated 85WH and 11.1V. So it's 1000 * 85 / 11.1 = 7658 mAH, so in this case 85WH is better than 6600 maH. If we solve 1000 * 85 / V = 6600, we get V = 12.9. When converting from WH, the bigger the voltage the lower the mAH. So for voltages bigger than 12.9 V, 6600mAH is better than 85WH. Hope this helps.
A 2200 mAh (milliampere-hour) battery carries about 30% more charge than a 1700 mAh battery, but there may be other factors to consider in deciding which one is better for a particular use. A fully charged battery that is rated for 2200 mAh should be able to deliver, for example, 100 mA (milliamps) of current for 22 hours.
It's not a question about "better", it's about what's most important to you - weight/size or runtime. The 4800 mAh battery will last longer, but will probably also be bigger/heavier. More to carry around. The 3600 mAh will last a bit shorter, but will be smaller and lighter. You have to decide what you prefer.
If they're the same voltage and chemistry - yes
mAh, milliampere-hour, is used as an informal measure of energy stored in a battery - the product of the current (in mA), and how long this current can be sustained (in hours). More mAh (or Ah) is therefore better.
It's not a question about "better", it's about what's most important to you - weight/size or runtime. The 4400 mAh battery will let you run the laptop on battery longer, but will probably also make it a little bit bigger/heavier. More to carry around. The 2550 mAh will last a bit shorter, but will keep the laptop smaller and lighter. You have to decide what's important to you.
mAh is short for milli ampere hours. It's a measure of the capacity of the battery. Comparable to the size of the fuel tank of a car. So a 6500 mAh battery is almost ten times the size of a 700 mAh battery.
