JJC is a copper ETF
From the prospectus:
The investment seeks results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Dow Jones-AIG Copper Total Return Sub-Index. The fund is designed to reflect the performance on copper contracts. The index is composed of Copper High Grade futures contract traded on the New York Commodities Exchange.
Copper has the chemical symbol Cu, but on commodity exchanges like the CME Group, copper futures are commonly represented by the ticker symbol HG to avoid confusion with gold futures, which are represented by the symbol AU (from the Latin word for gold, "Aurum"). HG stands for the former name of copper, "hydrargyrum," which is derived from the Greek words for water (hydor) and silver (argyros). This historical reference is used to differentiate copper from other metals in trading platforms.
The ticker symbol for Freeport-McMoran Copper and Gold Incorporated is FCX and it is traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
Futures tickers are a little different from stocks. Each futures market has a ticker symbol that is followed by symbols for the contract month and the year. For example, crude oil futures have a ticker symbol - CL. The complete ticker symbol for December 2007 Crude Oil Futures would be - CLZ7. The "CL" stands for the underlying futures contract. The "Z" stands for a December delivery month. (F=Jan, G=Feb, H=Mar, J=Apr, K=May, M=June, N=July, Q=Aug, U=Sep, V=Oct, X=Nov, Z=Dec) The "7" stands for the year - 2007. This is the standard formula for futures ticker symbols. Some quote services are a little different.

UNG is for the American spot market. NG is for the futures market on the NYMEX. NG is followed by the letter corresponding to the appropriate month you want to trade...ie NGH is a natural gas contract for March. After that comes the year, so for a natural gas futures contract with expiration in March 2011, it'd be NGH11.
