The tomtom gps has been around longer. However, they are both reliable gps systems.
The two best types of GPS are the Garmin and the TomTom. I would go with the Garmin because it will last longer and take more falls, but the TomTom is usually just as good and more user friendly.
If you encountered an issue with the 'add to TomTom' button, it may be due to technical problems with the button itself or compatibility issues. You can try refreshing the page, clearing your browser cache, or contacting TomTom support for further assistance. They may be able to provide troubleshooting steps or offer alternative methods to add the item to your device.
To connect a Garmin eTrex to a computer you may need an adaptor which then allows you to connect the Garmin to computer via serial to usb. Though, this is not the only way, it is highly recommended if you have a more modern computer that no longer or is unable to support Garmin compatibility. These adapters can be found on amazon. The rest is self explanatory.
They are dead pixels that no longer are working.
To delete destinations from a Garmin device, you can usually do so by going to the "Saved" or "Favorites" section in the device's menu, selecting the destination you want to delete, and then choosing the option to delete or remove it. If you're using Garmin Connect or another software, you can remove destinations from your saved locations through the app or website by editing your saved locations and deleting the ones you no longer need.
The Gamin GPS is no longer the number one rated on the market. It has been replaced by the Andover-Himmels FinderMan GPS, and is no longer the number one rated.
This is for anyone who used to use Diskaid to import TomTom ov2 files into the TomTom App. Ok, I was using Diskaid to import my Work and Favourite POI's into my TomTom app. Then along comes the new IOS 1.6 and Diskaid no longer has access to the TomTom folders for writing files!! Well thanks Apple :-( Anyway, did a little investigation and found this app. http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/poi-viewer/id364906423?mt=8 It doesn't save anything into the TomTom app, but it does allow you to import .ov2 files (and many other formats I believe) using the file transfer facility in the iTunes APP page for your iPhone. Once imported, the POI's are viewable in the App and there's an option to get directions which opens the TomTom app and starts direction finding as usual. One thing I did notice is that it appears to always give you the fastest route, so if you want Non-Motorway or Twisting roads simply do a route recalculation and tell it what you want within TomTom. Sorted :-)
The Garmin c340 GPS is an older model and may not support the latest map updates. You may need to check with Garmin directly to see if they offer a 2008 map update for this specific device. However, it's possible that the c340 may no longer receive updates due to its age.
No, the iGo A32 and A53 are different models. They may have some similarities, but they are distinct products with unique features and specifications. It is important to check the specific details of each model to determine which one will better suit your needs.
it takes saturn longer to revolve around the sun
Finding the best prices Garmin GPS systems requires a little bit of patience and a little bit of diligence. Prices fluctuate, seemingly almost daily, so what it really comes down to is the decision of how soon you want to be able to take advantage of the powerful capabilities built into every Garmin GPS system. Wait too long and you might find that the model you have your eye on is no longer available. Act too fast, and you might pay as much as 40% more than you would have if you had just waited another week.
From what I've been able to deduce, you cannot reliably buy just maps. Your device should tell you which maps it is compatible with (ie, tomtom, iGO, or Route66) and you could use that information to go to those well know product sites to purchase the maps. The problem with that approach is that you will pay upwards of $80 to purchase the maps and if they do not work, there is no returning the products. I recently moved from the US to Germany and it has become clear that I will have to buy a new gps because the company that made my gps (IOKONE) no longer provides map support.
