Meg is short for megabyte, which is why a lot people get confused.
There is a difference between, MBps and Mbps.
MBps = MegaBytes per Second
Mbps = Megabits per Second
Notice the difference between the upper and lower case 'b'? It matters.
For instance all isp's use the Mbps = Megabits which makes it look like a good offer.
If you're referring you have a '3 Meg' connection, than it's 3 Megabit (Mbit/ps or Mbps).
3 Mbps = 0.375 MBps (Anotherwards it's not 1 MegaBytes)
If you want 1 MBps (Megabytes) = 1 MBps = 8 Mbps
If you see an offer for 8 Mbps you'll be getting approx. 1 Megabyte down.
It's obviously 10 Mbps
Meg Ryan plays three different roles: 'DeDe,' 'Angelica,' and 'Patricia.'

An OC-192 (Optical Carrier level 192) has a data rate of approximately 9.6 Gbps. A DS3 (Digital Signal 3) has a data rate of 44.736 Mbps. To find the number of DS3s in an OC-192, you divide the data rates: 9.6 Gbps / 44.736 Mbps, which equals about 215. Therefore, an OC-192 can carry roughly 215 DS3s.
