i believe there are 2 types of single-arm shower controls ... 1 you pull out and turn ... the other, you just turn -- this one is called "posi-temp" first, make sure that the handle points directly down or you will not get any hot water! second, remove the handle ... there should be a white piece of plastic that can be pulled out easily ... for the hottest setting, it points up to 12 o'clock ... i don't believe you can make it higher than at this setting ... not sure, but each cog (tooth) that you turn it clockwise before putting back will cool it 2-3 degrees when done, make sure the handle points directly down before connecting the handle
