yes you can. you cant change it in top menu, but you can do 2 separate backgrounds for your widget and speed dial screen. go in to your galley, pick you desired picture, and leave your phone facing upwards, not on its side. at the bottom will be a few icons. pick the one that looks like a phone, then you can set it as either your widget, speed dial or all
