Well, if the parent is happy to give their child an iphone then there isn't anything wrong with that. It's the parents choice really. I would approve of giving my children an iphone, but they are alot of money. If you have the money for an iphone, then go and get your child one if they want one and your happy to give them one! Or just give them a normal phone and see how it goes from there. If your child likes the phone and uses it then there wont really be a problem, if they leave it on the side and always seem to be loosing it and not texting or ringing with it I'd never give my child an iphone. Parents remember this is your choice, that was my approvel of it. It's totally up to you. Your ten year old might want an iphone, if you have the money and your happy give them one. And as always don't waste your money on a iphone, if they don't use it or go on it and say "I don't want it anymore" Give it away! :-) Lol!

It depends, if the 9-year-old rides the bus with other people at their stop or goes out with friends are ever finds themselves in situations where there aren't any phones or it is unsafe then yes!

If the 9-year-old doesn't need the phone for anything listed above and just wants one to text their friends, then no!
